Personally I liked Rebel Winter myself simply because Vostroyans are my favorite regiment and the White Boar was an awesome nickname for an awesome officer.

Well of those you have listed I'd have to agree Rebel Winter was a good one, I liked having both the rebels and orks to contend with. Plus for being a hard-ass bastard, Sebastev was pretty likable. Not listed I'll have to say Dan Abnett's fantastic Gaunt's Ghosts series. I also like the Ciaphus Cain series by Sandy Mitchell. But then again, if its guard then I'm there.
Though I was less impressed with Death World and Fifteen Hours. Plus, it might make me a heretic but I always thought the Last Chancer's stuff was pretty lame. It was like the dirty dozen... without any likable parts.

Cadian Blood is not on this list, therefore the best Guard book can not win.

Ah but I did not say which was the best I said which of these 4 did you like best. And I only put these 4 because they are the 4 I read so I want to see others opinions of them in relation to my own, if I had put books that I had not read how would I be able to compre my choice to those of others?

Sadly any money I have had of late that's been set aside for Warhammer has gone towards models and the few books I have bought have been Horus Heresy.
