Well after x years of skulking in the darkness of forums without contributing very much myself, I thought I'd dare to post an ongoing progress blog of my new army which I am thoroughly enjoying doing . Previously scared of all these people online who are really good at painting.

Some form of fluff:

The army is a commandeered navy squadron of Vendetta's under the service of Inquisitor Lord Rail Thoma', some of the troops have been replaced by the stormtroopers of the Inquisitors private troops, the rest are naval vets, so heavy on flamers and armed with shotguns for boarding use. (If I ever get round to modeling the shotguns, for the moment they have got lasguns)

The army is made up of:

Inquisitor Lord, his retinue mounted in an inquisitorial painted Vendetta

2 Psyker battle squads, Eldar captives, (warlocks with green stuff chains and other detainment equipment) Both also in Vendetta's

Lot's of Veteran Squads also in Vendettas (made up of Karskrin models as the Inquisitors private troops, rest of vets are cadian's painted to match the naval blue.)

A command squad, not very exciting

+ whatever I get round to adding, a ground force of traditional leman russes etc may be added in higher point games but I'l start with above.

with no further ado I will actually post a picture , I am going to start with the valkyries/vendetta's cos they have had the most work so far, only 2 have been bought and started work on, of the total 7 so far.. but budget constraints as well as time it takes to paint them wins for the time being.

Inquisitorial 1, or the Leviathan is the flag Valkyrie which the Inquisitor Lord and Retinue fly in.


This Valkyrie is one of the 6 planned navy ones, I am doing those in navy blue to contrast with the Inquisitorial Red.


Now for the wing Vinyls:

meant to be a demon summoning gate being locked down by lightning.


A women on the side, probably affectionately Cindy or something equally daft, but what else are navy men going to paint on their ships.


An assault marine assaulting the valkyrie, trying to get to the cockpit.


I am going to leave it as that. But that's the start of this project and a good part of work done so far.
Please note both valks are very clearly still a work in progress

I'm liking the paint jobs on the Vaks, but the assualt marine doesn't seem to belong, he just seems to have been stuck on as an afterthought.

i kinda like the assault marine, i would make him much much more chaos looking!!!

would love to see more!

Obs, still WIP bottom flames not done yet, but give an idea of the overall effect when finished, top flames are done. Thanks for feedback so far.
