Hey all! My Warboss is just about finished, still need to paint his backpack thingy and touch up the details but I'm impatient so I thought I'd upload some pics of him right now Now keep in mind, this is one of the first models I've ever painted (only done like 20 Boyz in addition to this guy) so even if it's ugly as hell please don't break me completely I'm also aware that the pics might not be the best and that I still have work to do on him.

You need to wash your mini, badab black or thraka green on the flesh, devaln mud on the teeth, and just paint the blade of the klaw silver. Other than that, its ready for WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Thanks for the advice! Yeah I think I will repaint the klaw silver, it was more of an experiment but the more I look at it the more I dislike it. I will also apply washes and just generally go over it and see if I missed anything. Thanks for commenting

Hey dude, I think I'm in a similar situation to you at the moment, having painted only a handful of minis and starting with the orks of AOBR.

You have a nice neat grounding. I'd recommend:

Getting some devlan mud (or mixing a brown from existing paints and watering it down heavily) then coating almost the whole model in a thin coat of it to bring out shadows.

Take each colour that you've used, add a bit of white, and just paint the tips of it. For example, the raise areas of the trousers with a lighter blue.

My thread on how I've got better over time might also be helpful:

Thank you! I actually repainted the klaw with Boltgun Metal again, it looks better than the red I originally had. Once he's racked up some kills he might get some red notches on it though

PS. A nice simple way of making a model look more life like is to drill out the gun barrel. If you don't have a drill, use a craft knife like I did and rotate it to make a hole then fill with chaos black.
