Poll closed. Going with the renegades. CSM mixed with SM & Wolves (models) to simulate Alpha Legion. I feel that the ability of SW (Codex) to play MSU style & attack from all angles with a lot of redundancy fits the alpha legion well if not exactly right. . .

Thanks all who responded.

Option C:

Space Wolves
Highly Competitive
Could use Chaos Models to form a more renegade chapter (Space Vikings don't quite do it for me and I don't want an army of Hugh Jackman look alikes)
Very well at playing MSU style
Highly adaptable force
MeQ(Negative)

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Go for dark eldar if MEQ is such a turn-off for you.
People will only cry "bandwagon" until the next dex comes out. if you're that worried about what people think, you need to toughen up, lad!!

I voted Space Wolves, with the Renegade theme. I'm not a Space Wolves fan and wouldn't field them myself, but if you like Chaos Marines as much as you seem to, setting them up using Codex: Space Wolves would give you a very playble army that appeals to you.

I've been playing Warhammer 40,000 since 1988, and am just coming back from a bit of a 10-year hiatus. And please excuse any wild accusations, hallucinations, or outright factual errors, as I am recovering from a serious head injury. And Warhammer 40,000 is part of my therapy. OH YEAH!

Probably DE. Space Wolves you can go with the 13th company for some variety, but there are enough MEQs in the word as is. plus there are some serious conversion potentials in DE.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

Ummm...somewhere...

As you like MSU then SW are defiantly the way to go, they are lucky enough to have many builds that are all competitive. The new DE sex wouldn' go to well and CSM...well i guess if you like playing with 2 Lash Dameons Plague marines and some obliterators then sure go ahead, but i would prefer options, i.e SW

~Recently sold sisters, GW ruined them for me their burning of xeno's will be remembered! (Friend bought them back for me, making them work, statement so far half stands after a lesson learnt)
~ SKAVEN - 1000 points and growing, just have assassinate a few warlords to get my way...need more cheese...

On a serious note, proxy all three armies then decide from there. I moved to CSM after Eldar but that was based on alot of playtesting with proxy models.

On moon miranda.

CSM's are ok in terms of a competitive sense, but rather cookie cutter and their fluff is rather poor ATM.

SW's are a very point-click-win army with atrocious fluff.

DE have awesome new background, great new models with most of the line supposedly being redone by summer, and are very fun to play with and against. I say go with them.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.
