So as I tend to suffer from "oh - shiny!" syndrome I picked up a box of Dark Eldar Warriors.

First thing is, these models are a dream to paint. Very quick to do. Here is my first sample warrior. Took me, maybe an hour or so to do:

What do you think?

The highlighting is nice and neatly done. I'm not too sure about the face though. The green seems a little out of place and really bright. Other then that, I like the scheme.

Stick with one highlight color. The green, blue, or red are all good looking, but would look much better if there was only one color. As is he's too busy.

Personally I like the red and blue contrast, but not green as well.

But very nicely done all the same. :-)

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.

I rather like the different highlighting, it looks different and not like the same old red/purple/whatever mono highlighting of other dark eldar armies at the moment.

Thanks for the replies.

I do find it funny, a lot of people complain that the blue and red clash but these are the colour that used on two of the most iconic characters of all time: Superman and Spider-Man lol Hell even Optimus Prime is Red and Blue.

Perhaps it's just the tones I'm using. I do plan on experimenting with the reds as so far I'm blending up to blazing orange, think with my next batch (completed the armour of the next 4 already) I'll do up to blood red.

Thanks for the replies.

What colour would you guy recommend for the eyes then? Bearing in mind red is on 80% of the model all ready

@Billinator - was that first sentance aimed at your or me?

It looks nice. I like the red and blue highlights but not the green so much. I just finished painting some new archon with a joker paint job. White for the heads only, then green body with dark purple highlights and trim.

The Imperium using advanced technology is like drinking Pepsi out of a Coke bottle.
