I have a 1,500 Dark Angel army and was interested in adding more marines to build this force upto 2,000 points. But I fancy giving these marines a different colour scheme to represent Dark Angel successors. Would this type of alliance be allowed in standard warhammer 40k tournaments? I know most single player tournaments for armies of 1,500 points do not allow allies but would using two forces from the same codex be allowed? Responses appreciated.

doesn't matter what the color is, but you can't use both codex's. That's the only limitation, and you probably won't win any painting scores.

I once ran my ultramarines using the black templar codex. No one cared.

Just use one force org chart for both DA chapters. As long as you use one codex and one force org chart, it doesn't matter how you paint them.

I once had the thought of making a "Joint Force" by painting everyone of my C:SM models a different Chapter (including a representative from the main Chapters...UMs, BAs, SWs, IFs, etc). I would play them using the standard Codex.
Then I had a moment of clarity and nixxed that idea.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?
