@foosticks No it won't be me, whilst I am reasonably well acquainted with Dan (as in he'd recognize me in person, but might struggle to remember my name), I have never had a game with him, or has he ever seen any of my models except my Nagash and LotD stormtalon, which were both on display in the Nottingham store (where we both have worked) for a fair while. Thanks for the positive inclination though

What have you got going there on his helmet with the red next to the crest?

It's the upper jaw of the world eaters crest. I still need to neaten up the lines between the teeth with grey.

Quick update, Khârn is fully assembled. I just need to add shading and highlights to the pauldrons and then it's just the base

Whilst I haven't blogged for a little while, I haven't been idle; the iron circle and Perturabo have all been started (pics will follow), and I have made a start on a side project, Gangs of Commoragh. The rides are all done;



You can see the bikes better if you click on the image. I have done the bikes in the same scheme as my craftworld/corsair army, and replaced splinter rifles with shuriken cannons so that I can use them all together. They too will have scourge heads. I'll take more pictures once they are finished

Great stuff. I wanted to get GoC box but the spires scenery put me off big time.
I did however score a couple of boxes worth of Shadow Wars: Armageddon :-)

Nice work! If it hadn't been so limited I probably would have gotten a couple as well. I know what you mean about the spires, I planning on playing (or photographing) it on the dreadfleet mat, so I'm hoping that the choppy seas will make for a better aesthetic with them.

Not much has happened hobbywise this week, due to my wife and I having bought a house last week . However, small amounts of paint have been put down;

Love those Iron Circle robots! There's something about Perturabo that I just don't really like, sculpt wise. I feel they could've done better with his face, and had the cables and what not further back.

Cheers both, the house needs dragging into the modern age, but it'll make a great home. My hobby space is about to shrink though.

I really like the iron circle, fantastic models, not fun to build though.

@AoV I know what you mean about the face, far fewer cables would have been much better, and less base. I don't like a lot of FW's face sculpts, or even many of the Primarchs. If Angron hadn't been so small, or Curse's face had a better sculpt, or Mortarion hadn't been so static, I probably wouldn't have painted so much Iron. Lucky for me they have grown on me

Cheers both I have done a bit more on Pert and his guardbots, I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow.

Unfortunately I haven't done a huge amount of painting over the weekend, although I have done a little more on Perturabo. You'll have to excuse the quality, up close pic with my phone;



It looks a lot smoother in the flesh. I have darkened his eye sockes and cheek lines more since the picture was taken, and added pupils to his eyes.

Ten man Tartaros squad and classic box dreadnought. Couldn't resist adding him, although I doubt he'll ever see a game. Will be fun to paint though, and the iron clad only took an evening, so hopefully he'll be the same.

Progress is slow at present, what with it being exam season on the immediate horizon, and planning a relocation to a new home (packing up a hobby room is deeply upsetting). However, there has been some;

Awful posing on these models, as the sculpts are very static. I can't stand the augmetic details, so that guy will always be the first casualty.

Had a nightmare with these whilst doing the hazards, long story short the low adhesive masking tape pulled a huge chunk of paint off the model, so I had to re-prime and varnish the models, including Perturabo. Last time I undercoat FW with chaos black spray!

Archive. Nightmare indeed. I presume you gave them a good wash previously, it tendseems to be residual release agent that causes paint to peel away that easily.

Anyway, you'very clearly been busy, hope the move goes well.

Good luck on the move mate. It seems like you've made good progress despite it! Shame about having to redo those figures - it always feels like a real downer when you have to do that. Just keep your resolve while doing it, no rush right?

Oh yes, they were well scrubbed in hot soapy water. The resin was very glossy, but it was definitely scrubbed. It's the only time it's happened, but I'll be spraying everything with varnish just in case now.

I had a similar incident with resin too, not matter how thoroughly I cleaned the resin before hand.

Great work on the Tyrants Terminators, they look great. The static-ness of a lot of the newer/character models bugs me too brother, but you did a great job with them

I dont know how anyone does hazard stripes... they give me a drinking complex thinking about it.
