This is my take on a 1750 Black Templars list, I don't have any real competitive experience, so C&C would be very welcome.


HQ:

1750 exactly.

Grimaldus obviously goes with the blob, the EC rides in the rhino with the 5 initiates, everything else just does its thing.
I was thinking of removing the predator and get a land speeder with MM or two in instead, would this be a good idea? I could also switch the rhino for a drop pod, drop the preadator and get a Dread with MM in a pod, was thinking this'd give me some reasonably effective annoyances/objective mashers.

I think putting the Dread in a drop pod and giving it a MM / CC arm would be much better. The vow makes his arm a brutal tank destroyer. Even a Monolith should be scared of one of these.
-Dread / MM / Ven / Drop pod - 165, so ur still 1750.
Also it just puts tons of pressure on your opponent when hes got a LRC full of AT's and a Venerable Dread right in the core of his force.

This list makes me smile as I can see we think alike.

I would advise against drop poding him in.

Keep the TLLC and ML and keep him in the rear (in cover if you can)

I would say that the list as written definitely deserves a try, though if at all possible I would give the blob grenades, as they are likely to assault into cover.

Do you have furious charge for the terminators?
If no I would advise trying to work it in somewhere.

LC terminator + preferred enemy + furious charge + LRC = will kill loads of gak

I agree with the MM DCCW ven. Dread in a pod. It allows you to take out any nasty tanks with ease. I usually like to put a blob in a LRC and have the termies deep strike because then your opponent has to worry about two heavy hitter units deep striking into their ranks and it also protects your blob more, but thats just my personal preference. BTW there is a FAQ that says black templar LRs are assault vehicles and a unit disembarking them can assault even if the LR moved
