Does anyone know why GW only allows Orks to have 1 squad of 'Ard boyz? I mean, it only raises us to 4+ armor save, its not like it makes us too OP, If we pay for the armor, why can't we give it to all our squads?

Maby they could just make it so that it costs more points (maby raise it to 6 per model, so it doubles the unit's point cost?) and allow orks to upgrade as many squads as they want to 'Ard Boys? I don't know about you, but i dispise my orks 6+ save!

Anyone have any thoughts?

I think they should be made cheaper and allowed to field up six units.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

IMO Ard Boyz are like the elitist form of boyz before they rise up to being nobz. I know that probably doesnt make sense when a WAAAGH is imminent. But seeing how easy it is to give them cover saves in this edition I think thats why they did it.

Eavy armour is a bad upgrade anyways. 99.9% of the time its better to just use more boyz

Damn I cant wait to the GW legal team codex comes out now there is a dex that will conquer all.

The only good use of eavy armour i've seen is it used on the green tide apocalypse formation. 100 boyz with 4+ saves.

ouch. How about using it in a 30-man squad with ghazzy? I used it a lot (when I did orks). worked well.

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

Why stop at a 100! the rule has no max (as far as i know) pile all the boyz you can into that squad! with one squad you could cover the entire board!

I like to use one unit in my Green Tide formation to go out front. They get a 4+ save themselves, and provide a 4+ cover to the boyz behind them.

I think it should be unlimited. You can take as many 'ard boyz as you want just as long as you adjust the points accordingly

right, and thats assuming that you can use your armor save, most weapons are ap 6 or better, negating you armor all together.

The limit it's just to represent the fact that not that many orks have the teef to really it themselves out that much.

That said, it can be pretty powerful--it makes them much more durable in melee against most units.

Yeah but, it does cost extra points. You would have had more boyz in a game if they're not ard boyz so we can assume that the ones with armor beat the teeth out of the rest of the warband so bad the normals can't fight lol.
