Looking to expand my Orks for Christmas.

I currently have:
90 Boyz, about 60% are sluggas 40% are shooats
1 box of Killa Kans
1 KFF Big Mek
1 Painboy
1 box of Gretchin
2 AoBR Warbosses
6 AoBR Deffkoptas
I got 1 box of nobz I made 4 big choppas out of it and used the PKs to convert some AoBR mobs to PK and Boss Pole to lead my boyz mobs

I am thinking of moving toward mechanized with Battlewagons and buggies and Ghaz. I also thought a killer kan army would work as in a mechanized all my boyz will go to waste being able to field maybe 50 tops. I do need a way to deal with armor currently and am thinking lootas would be great. Are the bodies that come in loota/burna boxes the same sizes as in the boyz box? I hate the idea of spending $25 on only 4 guys if I could get 4 lootas and 4 burnas out of it I would be happier, also would love a battlewagon filled with burnas at some point. I am also thinking a SAG big mek might be fun and can deal with armor. Snikrot might be nice with commandos, maybe more kanz for a wall. I'm fairly new to the game and hobby and would love some diversity, the Kan Wall while effective may get boring after a while. I will mostly be playing my friend who is into salamanders, necrons and will be getting into Tau as well and I'm not looking to beat him just looking for us both to have a fun time with it, as well as be competitive for some 2s tourneys against others.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

Well since you've got grots already, I would recommend getting some more to cover your boyz and hold the odd objective. Sure a kan wall is better but latley I'vee been surprised how well grots are doing for me.

I played a DE player a few days ago and a group of 20 grots managed to kill 8 wytches and hold an objective while saving many boyz with cover saves, I think many people just ignore them, and then they pay for it.

loota/burna bodies are the Same as Boyz; so buying 2 Loota/burna Boxes and a Boyz Box gives you 8 lootas, 8 Burnas and 2 meks(or boyz) funny thing is the Mek's Big Shoota requires a Boyz-box Left Arm, and has no Ammo-backpack(not sure about the backpack, it may be in there; been awhile). Alternatively you could buy 3 Boxes of loota/Burnas and a Box of boyz; then have 10 lootas, 10 Burnas; and 3 aditional boyz(plus the bitz for 2 additional Lootas and Burnas).

Given what you have I would Say a Battle Wagon, Deff-rolla Conversion Kit(or just craft your own DR) and the above mentioned Lootas/burnas and Boyz boxes. This will give you a very dangerous Wagon that you can put your KFF BM and Burnas in, and then on top of that a nice large Loota unit. Build your BW as Oppen-topped, with the DR, (you could add the Kill cannon since you are only going to have 11 models in it) with a few Big Shootas bolted-on. The BW becomes a Centerpiece(and bullet magnet), The BM keeps the BW safe, and the Whole shebang moves slowly up the center providing a "Cover-bubble" to the rest of your forces until you are ready to tank-shock/Ram; and when you are ready for that you are also ready to let slip the greenskins of war.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Have you considered a box of Nobz, seeing as you've already got a painboy? They're a pretty excellent unit if you can get them into combat.

For lootas and Burnas what I did was buy 2x loota/burna boxes and 1x boys box.

I then made 8 lootas and then converted 2 more using big shoota and another shoota on top.

Then I made 8 burnas and converted 2 more using a rokkit launcha. Cut of the end of the rokkit and the fins, add a wire to the backpack, cut off the fins on the backpack and you are done.

This leaves you a nob from the boys box to do whatever you want with him. All you need is an extra Base for him.

Sven-thanks for the tip do you have some pictures or a link to somewhere that shows how to do the conversion?

Mekanob-I do have a nobz box already, I will add a 2nd one soon.

Kel-Thanks for the advice that seems like a very balanced way to build up the army, I love it. I am also going to add on a SAG and a weirdboy for when I want to have fun.

Lootas are absolutely incredible. 15, 30, or 45 S7 shots going downrange a turn can cause some ludicrous carnage. I occasionally stick a Big Mek with them for his bosspole if I really want them to stick around.
