A small blob of black wash gives the impression of eyes and is more convincing than most people's attempts at painting separate whites and pupils

I paint flesh up from a Dark Flesh base and just tend to leave the eye sockets dark these days.

I also go to some lengths to try to avoid bare heads though, simply because I suck at painting eyes.

When I do get them right, it's because of the law of averages, rather than skill.

Depends on the skin tone for me as I generally use Bleached Bone with a small dot of Chaos Black. This doesn't work for my Eldar/Elves though as their skin is mostly made up of bleached bone as well.

Like others have said a small brush is the way to go. I used to use a needle, but it doesn't work out as well as a brush.

I personally use the skull white and chaos black technique. But the white always lets the flesh tones from underneath through a bit. And I ALWAYS take real care where the puils are going. SO many times theyve had a lazy eye hahaha

i admit i have a rather lazy way of doing it, i paint the eyes white and a watered down wash of black int, flls in around the outside and gives a general "eyeish" appearance

I think you can do it with a fine brush. Thats how i do my eyes (see my blood angels images). I use a 18/0 brush and it works wonders, some people go to extremes, but just a normal brush works well
