I'm looking for a solution for miniatures storage, but the requirements are a bit different from the norm, so the usual suspect (Sabol, Battlefoam, Pistol/Rifle cases, etc.) are out.

Basically, looking for ideas for storage of RPG minis at a friend's house (where we game) and would ideally like something that is wood, has several small drawers, and can accommodate a selection of RPG style minis, most of which are 28mm but some may be bigger.

So far my best idea is to get something like this and add trays from Sabol (if they'll fit) or similar, but it's not quite what I want. ideally, i'd like something like a wooden toolbox, perhaps. being portable would be a nice plus, but certainly not required. Styling is somewhat flexible.

Any ideas?

Looks like I found some options on eBay. Wish me luck, and feel free to let me know of any related ideas...

I ran out of shelf space a long time ago! Anyway have you considered plastic storage boxes? The majority of them have ridges meaning they are stackable and are space saving. They are also very portable and with being plastic less likely to chip the paint.

It's an option, but I like finding 'interesting' gifts for friends... Friends who don't read DakkaDakka, i believe, lest this be spoiled. I found a bunch of old wooden toolboxes on eBay that might serve, and will give that a shot. If I lose out, no big deal.

I was looking for wood because this is the kind of thing my friend and his wife would like to have out in their basement and wood looks nicer than plastic.

Thanks for commenting, though!

Thanks, Killkrazy! Some great ideas in there. If my current idea falls through, I'll have to check the local art stores.
