I hunted about on the gW site and the 'Net and sadly have not found what entails a GW 'tanks giving'. I know it's tanks galore, but what to bring? Anyone able to give a run-down?
And, either the GW store was closed, or the single proprietor too busy to answer the phone (I really don't like that model of business operation, but oh, well).
Bring like every tank I own, Xeno or no?

Various GW stores have an event on Saturday after the American holiday, "THanksgiving." Only it is "T'anks giving" a pun.
You show up with many tanks for a battle. I did attend one several years ago (and can't remember much) but was hoping to glean some specific regs or such, to maximize the fun.
Better?

If you can stand the endless gaggle of kiddies and their blue housepaint Land raiders, then go for it.

"No, thanks" to the snarky comment LLF.
... And a little thread bump to see if there's anyone with a positive, helpful contribution to make, like info about it or a link to a GW 'announcement' kinda thing.

I've seen these. It's kind of lame, unless you play guard...Showing up with a bunch of rhinos isn't cool at all

And my sketchy memories of a few years ago has that gaggle of wee ones underfoot. In that sense, I do know what I'm getting into.
Otherwise, I have 3 LR variants, 5 Railheads and a couple eldar tanks, too, so I won't be fielding rhinos for one turn as the IG player rolls all the dice and chops 'em up.

I remember last years T'anks giving at the Chicagoland Battle bunker.
They collected tanks throughout the month, walkers, opentop and various others(cant remember specifics) counted, even rhinos from what I remember.
Every day from the start of November the bunker would 'launch an attack' at the bunker in LA; they did the same to us,and whoever took the most total hits by the end of the month lost. Not entirely sure what the point to it was, but it was fun to see how many of our tanks managed to hit the LA bunker.

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions
|
My sole opponent on our table in Seattle fired his only vortex support missile at LA... apparently it just scattered and vaporized a building. Thanks LA bunker, you saved me from a VSM to the face. It was a game of my tank company of 9 Russes and 3 basalisks, 2 sentinals, and some other assorted shenanagans (land speeders and dreadnoughts) against a quarto legio composing of two titans and a substantial force of space marines.
That is the type of Apoc game that I love, only two players, lots of tanks, lots of carnage. The reason I have drawn away from huge games is the number of players. I have three player all with half the points that I do yelling at me that they are shooting me while I am trying to get the attention of a fifth party. Too much yelling, not enough fun. With the way that they broke up the games (leaving a table for people that want to have a huge battle without formations or superheavies, a natural blue housepaint magnet) left room for having games like I had, as well as a 2v2 of doubly huge proportions (all painted if you can imagine that)
Also, never ever playing against bio-titans now that the rules may be interpreted to give it a 3+ invul save.
NEVER AGAIN

A Vanquisher with pask and multimelta sponsons would perform rather nicely in a T'anks giving, would it not?
