Has anyone else seen their local Games Workshop-licensed retailer is no longer selling any blisters or boxes for the Sisters of Battle? Thanks to GW's odd demands that their material not be pictured or even sold online through the store's website, I had to download an inventory spreadsheet and about a month ago, they simply said, "we're currently out of stock of the Sisters of Battle kits" and when downloading the updated list for this weekend, it said that Games Workshop was also experiencing a shortage. So I'm just curious if this is an isolate incident, or if others are also finding that Witch Hunters are missing from their local inventories, too? Beyond that, I am curious about whether or not this signals that the force is going to "rebooted" or is just being lead off the side of the stage it occupied? I am hoping for the former, as it seems that their sculpting techniques will let GW create women who don't have faces like zombie Joan Rivers; but I'd be perfectly alright with another Squat-like mystery where people get banned from GW's forums for merely mentioning the Sisters of Battle.

My store always has had a couple blisters (one or two) and maybe a few boxes of all metal models, but it always was in the dust next to the SM and nid boxes beside it.

Even if it's a sign it may not mean anything is coming for years. The Daemon and Witch Hunter codexes have been gone from stores for over a year, and some armies like Wood Elfs abd Elfs Who are Dark and Also in Space were missing for several years from shops.

They were pulled from the stocklists late last year/early this year IIRC.

Most of the boxes are gone (with the exception of the Tanks and Walkers) and you've pretty much got to order the blisters from GW if you want them new at this point.

I imagine most of the range will be replaced with plastics, but exactly when that will occur, well who knows?

Well, since the GW forums are lost in the warp along with the squats, I don't think you have much to worry about getting kicked off of them.

As to Witchhunters, (and Daemonhunters), most of the models are gone from the stockist ranges and not available to order through trade sales.

Part of this is due to:
-WH and DH codices going out of print. GW is out of them, and a minimum print run would be in the thousands, and last them a decade at current rate of sale. Instead, they put them for free up on the website.
-Boxes for the product is a major component of costs, and like other printed matter, cheapes in a large print run. Rather than reprint some of the boxes, they are moved to either blisters or clamshells and available only through the website. Can't ship the unpackaged stuff to stores to sell though, so that version of the product isn't available for order through trade sales.
-Some models may have burnt out molds.

I can still get most everything by placing an order through the website and having it shipped to my store. So special ordering is not problem, or even putting it on the wall with a homemade label on those plain white boxes.

Are new codices and model ranges coming for these armies? Probably. Someday.

But the reasons for them going out of print aren't necessarily pointing to it, more to GW saving money by not incurring additional costs on a slower selling range of metal models.

Jes Goodwin said they were having too much trouble making plastic Sisters work right now. I wouldn't expect them for a year or more.

Does this lack of minis for you include the assassins? Because I can't find them ANYWHERE. I've traveled to every game store within a hundred miles of where I live that I know of, and not a single assassin on the shelf. And 2 of these game stores have EVERY GW model out there. Kinda bummed, I liked the look of the female assassin with the weapon that ignores invul saves

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

No, he said they were having SOME problems, getting the flowing hair and robes to match right while looking dynamic. Quite different from "too many problems". I doubt we'll see sisters until late next year, but that's about when we expected them anyway.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

1.) Full range of Witch hunter miniatures available on the GW webstore, including all assassins:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/landingArmy.jsp?catId=cat440180a&rootCatGameStyle=

2.) Jes Goodwin working on the models, telling us about some delays because of sculpting challenges.

3.) After 7 years and 2 editions without support plus an almost full metal miniature range, some stockists might chose not to waste shelf space on them.

4.) The German Witch Hunter Codex went OOP several years ago, that doesn't mean that Germany got the new one a year after that.

I expect that the new Siters of Battle models (when they arrive) will be a lot less ZOMGBEWBAGE than the current models. After all, look what happened to the 3rd Edition Daemonettes.

However, I think they would benefit from chest reductions-well, the canoness anyway.

I'm gonna have to start picking up the metals on ebay/through trades I guess. SoB in plastic are going to look like crap (my proof is to tell you to look at the other plastic ranges that are all horribly misproportioned under the guise of 'historic scale' while the witchhunters are true(r) to scale).
