Hi everyone,

I'm happy with my kit-bashing and my painting but I'm wanting to get more into the modelling/sculpting side of the hobby.

Can anyone suggest a good illustrated 'guide book' for beginners?

Many Thanks in advance.

asking for a beginner's guide to sculpting is like asking for a beginner's guide to painting. You can't make the mona lisa from a book.

There are a couple of little tricks out there, like keeping the knife lubricated, and letting stuff cure a bit before use, and retouching to prevent mellowing, but those are things you sort of pick up as you go.

The best way to go about modeling is to just do it. The more you work with the material, the better you will be at it, and the more you think up little tricks to make your specific projects go more smoothly.

Thanks for all the links and tips.

As soon as my new tools arrive I shall give it a go. If my first attempts aren't 'straight in the bin' stuff I may post up some pics.
