Subject: Trapped pain tokens?

I have been thinking of a strategy in which reavers kill enemy units by making them run away straight to them. here is my question: "A unit of 5 Reavers turboboosts over 10 guardsman killing 2. they are 5" behind the guardsmen now. In the next phase a unit of Kabalite warriors manage to shoot 3 to death. The Guardsmen take a leadership test and fail. Now the Guardsmen are falling back 7" but since they run into my reavers they are destroyed. Who gets the pain token? The reavers? Kabalites? None?

The situation you're posting about doesn't exist. The guardsmen will run around the Reavers.
If you are talking about Trapped!, don't worry, it will never happen. I've never seen a legitimate application of that rule, as it's nearly impossible to set up. In the outside chance that it actually occurs, no one will get the token, just like if the unit ran off the board edge.

"Trapped!" in 4th and 5th edition 40k, unlike Crossfire in 3rd edition, which you seem to be thinking of, is very hard to pull off. I guess a large unit of Reavers could do it by encircling an enemy unit.
If it happens, as MSP said, nobody gets a pain token, since technically no specific DE unit destroyed the victims.

It almost never happens.
