Hey,
I was just battling away the other day, when I considered the background capability of Land Raiders being teleported or dropped in alongside Drop Pods as part of a Strikeforce.
I am now playing Space Wolves, and I have a drop pod force planned, and I was wondering about the fluff surrounding it.
My thought was that as long as the teleport pad/ drop craft was large enough, it could be done.
Please post your ideas.

I suppose so...
I mean a drop pod for tanks would be hard but possible though i'm not sure if it would work since the drop pods need to be fast to get through anti-air defenses.
Not sure about the teleporter i suppose it should be possible but i don't know enough about it.
BA have deep striking Land Raiders i know that.

Orks teleported lots of stuff ( armageddon IIRC ), but they don't care for the risk...

If you go SW, the sons of russ seem to dislike teleporting.

The Blood Angels just had a common way to insert Tanks ruined by M.Ward. Instead of deepstriking Land Raiders alone, any vehicle should be able to enter play
per T-hawk transporter. Viable background ( ferry the Tank to its destination per T-hawk ) thrown to the wolves ( the interwebz that is ).

Teleporting vehicles could work. May need enormous amounts of energy and would catch the attention of the mechanicum for sure...

SW don't do teliportation, hence why their Terminators can't DS without a Pod.

i did make rules for a Tank Drop Pod, but it couldn't carry Land Raiders.

i belive it was something like this

30 Pts

AV12 all around

open topped

Heavy Bolter

BS3

Purchased as a Fast Attack option.

had the Drop Pod assault rule.

Transport Cap: 2 Dreadnoughts OR 1 Rhino OR 1 Predator OR 1 Vindicator OR 1 Razorback OR 1 Whirlwind. if the Transported vehicle is a DT it may carry it's squad although they may not disembark or fire any weapons the turn they arrive(they will still make Emergency Disembarkations)

vehicles carried counted as moving at Cruising Speed(couldn't fire any weapons) to represent the crew releasing the tank from it's couplings and being unable to man the guns. Dreadnoughts may fire weapons as normal although they may not assault.

and this rule

Smoke Launchers: the Vehicle Drop Pod, upon popping it's doors, fires clusters of Smoke grenades to protect it's valuable cargo. both the Pod and the transported Vehicles count as being obscured untill the owning player's next movement phase.

If you want a army to teleport Land Raider so it fits with the fluff, you have to go BA. Then you just say your teleporting instead of just droping it out of a jet and hoping for the best. I would say it even makes more sense.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.
