No Pity, No Remorse, No Fear - Black Templars are always fearless.

Righteous Zeal - If any of your models suffers an unsaved wound, you must make a leadership test at -1 leadership for each model slain. (Fearless models can make leadership tests). If you pass, nothing happens. If you fail, your BT lose control and surge toward the enemy that caused the wounds. Roll 2D6 and choose the highest dice. You must move at least one model in your squad in the direction of the enemy that caused the wounds. All other models must maintain squad coherency, but may not move away from the enemy that caused the wounds. (That enables you to hold objectives...) In close combat, Righteous Zeal also works, but if you fail remaining BT are treated as having +1 attack in the next combat.

HQ:

Marshall Helbrecht - Equally comparable to Lysander or Calgar, but no terminator armor. That would forbid him from running down traitors. Keep in mind that ANY model can be Helbrecht, and his name does not have to be Helbrecht. You can field Jo Bob using Helbrecht's rules.

Chaplain Grimauldus - Equally good as he is right now, except lose the whole 1 wound thing. Just give him 3 wounds and call it a day.

Marshall - Instead of one pie plate to put down in his shooting phase, he can reroll all drop pod reserve rolls while he is alive. No orbital bombardment.

Castellan - 3 wound captain equivalent.

Chaplain - 3 wound chaplains

BT Emperors Champion Aspirant - These heroes do not count against BT HQ options, and you can only have one hero for every unit you have. They remain attached to a unit like a Sergeant, and are never independent, unless the rest of the squad dies. Basically, its a brother who can really kick ass that shows his other brothers how it is done. 2 wounds. (We have Sergeants?! where?!) The best part is, they extend the vow to their unit, no matter the distance from the EC.

Emperors Champion - He is a space Marine captain equivalent with a relic blade that insta-kills on a 6 to wound. He is 2+/4+ all of the time. The EC chooses a vow to begin with at the beginning of the game, but after the list is made. He must announce this before deployment.

Vows:
Accept Any challenge, no matter the cost. All friendly BT units within 18 inches of the Emperors Champion gain preferred enemy.
Suffer not the unclean to live. All BT within 18 inches of the Champion gain Furious Charge and Counter attack.
Uphold the Honor of the Emperor. All BT within 18 inches of the Champion gain a 5+ invulnerable save against non psychic shooting attacks.
Abhor the Witch, Destroy the Witch. All BT units within 18 inches of the Champion gain ignore psychic powers on a 3+. The enemy may choose another target outside of 18 inches of the EC, if he can.

Sacrifice: The EC may sacrifice himself to gain +1D6 attacks to himself and +1 attack to all BT within 18 inches. He has no armor save nor invulnerable save for that round of combat. He does not die unless someone kills him.

Elites:

Terminator Assault Squad, per SM codex. (Righteous Zeal and Fearless make them different from other armies, people!)

Terminator Squad, per SM codex (Righteous Zeal and Fearless make them different from other armies, people!)

Sword Brethren, BT with PW's, articifer armor, Furious Charge and Crusader Seals.

BT Venerable Dread: Ven dread with TH, DDCCW, and SS. Enjoy that, Doom.

Troops:

Crusader Squad 5 Initiates base. May add neophytes.
Weapons: Initiates, All Bolter, BP, and CCW. Neophytes: Bolter or CCW/BP.
May have 1 PW, Relic Blade, Thunder Hammer, PF, or Chainfist?! as a cc option.
May have 1 Assault Weapon as an option. No HW's!

Special Rules. Protect thy Master: Every time you choose to roll a wound versus an initiate, you may choose to reroll a failed saving throw using the save of the
Neophtye. (if you CAN save against it with the Neophtyes save). When you reroll this
throw, you also gain a 5+ invulnerable throw that you can use, as the Neophyte warns or pushes his master from harm. If you fail the re-roll, the initiate dies. If you choose and pass an armor save then the neophyte lives. If you choose and pass with an invulnerable save, a neophyte dies.

Vehicles: BTLRC, DP, LR Rhino (if 10 or less).

Neophyte Selection Squad: Essentially a slightly diminished (5+ armor save) scout squad that numbers to 20. No Sniper rifles. These haven't earned anything yet. They may be joined by an BT Hero that will select who will go on to select Initiates to continue training.

Special Rules: Courageous: Unworthy squads are stubborn in an assault, and may use the leadership of attached models. If they lose an assault, they may
never rally. If they win an assault, they are fearless.

Fast Attack:

BT Assault Squad: TH's and SS's. No Shooty.

Bikes: standard and assault. BP and CCW armed that get base 2 attacks.

Attack Bikes: Standard

Heavy Support:

Predator

LR

BTLRC - BTLRC's are protected by the Emperor. They have a 4+ invulnerable save against shooting attacks.

LRC

Stormraven - hey you stole the LRC! We have a SR now.

Looks fun. Make sure you keep the Holy Hand Grenade in!! It's the best reason to play Black Templars (for me anyway)

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I can see us losing preferred enemy entirely next edition - I hope not, but its a possibility.

I like some of your other ideas.

The vehicle invulnerable saves and the Abhor the whitch vow are a bit op.
Apart from that it looks ok.

Some vehicles are missing....

No speeders?
Other dreads than venerable?
A BTLRC and a LRC in the list? Why not keep it blessed hull?

Interesting wishlist.
Lots of meatshields...

+1 for the holy handgrenade

Not a fan of EC-trainees and the bubble idea for vows.
And I think if you wishlist for 5th ed, Helbrecht and Grimaldus would be SC and some basic "chapter master-template" guy is the common HQ.
Remember the size of the crusades, a Helbrecht ( 8000+x) > 'chaptermaster equivalent' ( 1000+x) > 'captain equivalent' (100+x) hierarchy may fit.

I'd rather have the old vows than the ones you have here.

As for as other stuff goes I think the characters are good (definitely need scaling to 5th ed).

Empy Champ aspirants should be like sanguary priests in that they give bonsuses to their squad (maybe a squad wide virtue (doesn't stack))

Also, you require more Storm Shields (its one of our unique things)

We're watching you... scum.

Gimping the "accept any challange" vow is not a way to win over my heart.
