I'm new to the game and learning Eldar. I've recently stumbled across the Necron. I read their entry, which leads me to my question.

Why is everything the Necron do immune to any defensive bonus the Eldar get. And because of this is it possible for an Eldar fleet to beat Necron.

Necron are generally seen as OTT compared to other fleets.

Eldar win against necron the same as any other army, the movement phase(s).

Overall, Necron have a better advantage against eldar/dark eldar due to the fact they ignore some of the things that make them powerful - but necron aren't unstoppable. having no assault craft makes things slightly easier - sure they can star pulse, but they can't use it while on brace - and hitting ship with lances that *can* get 3 shot, tends to make them want to brace.

Necron vs Eldar is skewed in Necron favour. And unbalanced match caused by the obnoxiously bad rules for the Eldar (official rules that is). These are so bad unbalanced matches are created by off set.

With bad I mean: bad. Not that they are weak (because official Eldar are too strong in the right hands except vs Necrons due rules).

Well, like they've said, necron rules are designed poorly IMO. Its not an unwinnable game, usually bomber and lance spam will be good. Once you cripple a few cruisers, maybe destroy the escorts if they take any, disengage and see if you win.
