The Eldar bitz... most of them just take a normally symmetrical model and turn it into something funny looking. But I want everyone else's opinion.

Right now I'm working with guardians, and there are three pieces:

-Ammo belts
-binocular things with a proboscis shaped lens
-shoulder mounted optics
-runic back antennas (conspicuously studded...)

It just seems like anything I put on these models turns them from ninjas to lopsided geardos (yes, I meant to spell it that way). Any thoughts, though? Any way to make it work or look more ideal? Maybe I'm just not getting it.

i didnt use the ammo belts or shoulder mounted optics.

Some of that stuff you just dont need to use. The back parts do have a gap on them to include the antennas but I think these look pretty cool.

Currently collecting and painting Eldar from W40k.

I use the studded antennae to represent the Guardian squad leaders (who according to the fluff that I still follow, walked the Aspect paths in a previous 'life'). Gamewise there is no difference between them and other guardians, but I know.

As for the rest, don't use them. They get in the way.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

I do apply the ammo belts to some of my guardians. I think it gives them a more dynamic pose, plus I would like to have something to look at on their backside I definately think that you can over do it with their bits though. I dont really know what to suggest, go with what you like

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

Lord Helmet - "I bet she gives great helmet."

Ok, I appreciate it. I will likely go without, then. It's not like Guardians ever get plasma grenades or anything.

Do a few extras bits here and there, make a couple of models stand out. If you tried to use all the bits that come with squads they'd end up looking ridiculous, not to mention being almost impossible to paint.
