In the BTC the emperors champion has 2 attacks but his wargear makes me think he should have at least one more.

Bonus attacks for 2CCW (such as a power weapon and a bolt pistol) are not normally included in their attack stats.

So he has 3, 4 on the charge. Not as many as id like, but he is killy anyway!

Think it's just an uber power weapon

IIRC he has a power weapon that strikes at str 6. Not the same as a Relic blade.

Yup, its a power weapon with S6. Definately not a relic blade.

In previous editions, he could choose to use the black sword as a power weapon with +1S, or as a power fist. Now its just S+2.

Given relic blades were "invented" in Codex : Space Marines 5th edition, it is unlikely that a 4th ed codex would have them

In fact his functions similarly to a relic blade, but better as it is only 1 handed.

Vows aside, at 90 points the emperors champion is insanely good.

Shame he will be nerfed in 5th :(

He can be the daughter of mephiston and shoot lightning from his arse and fire from his sword with 5 attacks.
