this comes out to 1980 total.....what i would llike to know is whether or not to add combi's to the sternguard or use the 20 pts else where.

Also: I dont want to use a Drop Pod for the Sternguard as I wont always want them coming in on turn 1, especially if i reserve the rest of my army.

Well, it isn't really a BA Sternguard list since you're only taking the one squad but be that as it may I do suggest maxing out on as many combi-melta or combi-plasma as you can. The melta are good for tank busting (which shouldn't be the priority of sternguard in a Rhino in a BA list) but the Combi-plasma are a nice compliment to the AP3 Vengeance bolts, especially with the over saturation of MEQ opponents you are likely to face.
