Hey everyone,

We will be hosting our 'Second Saturday' GW tournament in two weeks on Saturday, December 11. Hopefully this is more timely notice so everyone can clear the time.

For the 40k side bring 2000 points; we'll be continuing with the streamlined, 'thumbs-up/thumbs down' format for scoring with 20 Battle Points possible each round. I'll be mixing up the scenarios and secondary objectives this time, to help keep things interesting. We're getting this thing down to a science; the last event was well-attended and still ran like clockwork, wrapping up right on schedule. And since I'm hosting the Koscheck/St. Pierre fight that night, I'll definitely be making sure things keep pace!

For Fantasy Battle, we will be ready to run at 2250 points; we did not end up having a WHFB side to the tournament last time, though I've heard from a few guys that they're planning on coming out in December. I'll be mixing up the scenarios a bit and rolling in a new soft score concept this time.

For both events, we will be running 3 rounds starting at 10:00am, with a $10 entry (or $20 purchase). There will be prizes for Best Overall, Best General, Best Sportsman, and Best Army. Prizes are awarded in GW product of the winner's choice.

Everyone was happy with the new prize split, so we will be sticking with the 75-25-25-25 split for prizes.

The schedule will stick as closely as possible to the following:
9:00am - 10:15 - check-in, sign-up, event preamble, pairings
10:15am - 12:30pm - Round 1
12:30 - 1:00 - Lunch
1:00 - 3:15 - Round 2
3:30 - 5:45 - Round 3
6:00 - Winners announced

It all goes down at Game Empire Pasadena
2302 E. Colorado Blvd.
Pasadena, CA. 91107
626-304-9333
www.gameempirepasadena.com

Finally, if anyone out there is interested in being available as a 'ringer' for the at least the first round or two, I would be very appreciative and spiff you accordingly. Basically, you'd pay no entry fee, only have to play for the first round or two as your schedule permits, and get some swag in exchange for making sure the odd man has an actual game, instead of just free points. And if we get a even number of players, you'd be free to hang or bail as you see fit.

If you have any comments or questions, let me know here or give a call to the store, and hopefully I'll see you there!

Lee has been into GE the last 2 Tuesday nights. I played him twice. Lost once with my Salamanders and fought him to a bloody bloody draw with my Space Wolves. Both great games, the list is a bear and he knows what he is doing.

I may miss this one after all. I got hit by a very bad case of Cataclysm.

Ahh Darrian, I thought we'd finally get to play! There will always be time for Cataclysm, but warhammer tournaments only come once monthly!

Thanks to everyone who showed up , terrible curses and general derisive sniffs to those who browbeat people into coming out and then failed to turn up themselves , and a thousand of the foulest poxes on a certain new videogame expansion!

I had a great time and I hope it was fun for everyone who showed up. Congratulations to all the winners, and thanks to Yakface for the genius idea about increasing punctuality and the affirmation that Dawn of War has no place being an option for deployment on the Capture and Control mission.

I posted a more detailed review on the ol' blogerino, which you can find here:

http://captureandcontrol.blogspot.com/2010/12/warhammer-40000-tournament-wrap-up.html#more

So you can check there and see how it all shook out *cough*Darrian*cough*.

We'll be doing it again in January on the 8th, stay tuned as usual to Dakka for the official announcement.
