I have Space Marines and I have Chaos Space Marines.
My friend has Eldar and now Dark Eldar.
He has all the victories.

For his Eldar, he uses Eldrad and another farseer, a squad of fire dragons, dire avengers, 4 tanks that I'm not sure of the names (sorry), striking scorpions, and occasionally warp spiders.
He's mechanized. Three transports, one normal tank.

For his Dark Eldar, I'm not sure of everything he has because he's still building them. All I know is he has an Archon, Vect, Incubi, and I think a squad of Wyches.

I need help fighting Eldar. I'm sick and tired of always losing to them. I want at least ONE victory against the Eldar.

Any help, tactics, whatever would be helpful.

Well since you provided no information about your army, it's a little difficult to help. Why don't you list what kind of lists you run against him, and what usually goes down to get him those wins? Gametypes, tactics, army lists...all these things will help us identify what you're doin wrong and help you out. I've been playing SMurfs for about 5 years now, so I can probably be of a decent amount of assistance.

Agreed. We need more info to help.

Tell us what you usually field and what other models you have.

Tell us what else he usually fields in his Eldar.

Tell us what size games you play, and whether you play normal book missions or something else.

One piece of general advice I can give is to learn what his units are called and EXACTLY what they do. If you don't own a copy of his codex, ask if you can borrow it and do some studying. If you don't understand his special rules, if you don't know exactly what his units are capable of, you cannot make good tactical decisions. You're fighting with one hand tied behind your back.

as with any army that relies on its mobility, if you take away that mobility you get a big advantage. whichever species of eldar you're fighting, your priority needs to be busting their transports. autocannons are the standard answer for csm. normal marines dont get autocannons in quite so many places as chaos marines but they are available. you can also spam missile launchers. consider typhoon pattern land speeders or buying a bunch of hunter killer missiles for instance. every squad you bust out of its transport is effectively dead for as long as it takes them to get back into position. depending on where their transport goes down that could be 1 turn, or the whole game.

dont try to chase them around. it wont work. bring enough long range weapons to reach out and hit them, and stick to your cover. when you come out of your cover and try to chase them in a rhino.... well... eldar just live for that gak. dont do it. take away their mobility, then walk over and club them in the head. most civilized.

That's good advice.

In my CSM army I usually run two units of Oblits AND a unit of havocs with 4 missiles in part because I realized that having only two units of oblits wasn't enough long-range firepower to knock down Eldar tanks at the rate I needed to.

One of the best sages the spacewolf has is Grey Mage over at the bolter and chainsword. He has awsered so many questions asbiout how to beat eldar and he has played them for some years. Use the search function there and read to your hearts delight.
