Hey guys, I really love the paint job on this model: http://www.coolminiornot.com/260821

I have a ton of unpainted Lizardmen saurus & I'd like to do a paint job like that but tinged blue (dark blue scales, etc). The thing is I can't figure out for the life of me how to get the right light/white skin color I like. For my latest plan I'm trying out GW space wolves grey, GW bleached bone, & GW asuren blue wash. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a lot of luck using a duller color like Kommando Khaki over Bleached Bone when going for more muted tones. Bleached Bone just seems to close to White and tends to just bring to much brightness to colors often not needed. Incorporate more flat colors. That river troll looks to have almost a khaki and DA green mix.
Play around on your palette and incorporate colors like Kommando Khaki, Bubonic Brown or Scorched Brown into your mixes. Don't underestimate the uses of your flats like Catachan Green or SW Grey. Keep at it and I'm sure you'll get the tones you want.

I like the idea of a SW blue base but the bleached bone might be a ittle too warm/brown for that. I'd bet you could accomplish most of what you want just with the SW Blue and Skull White and maybe use some greys (in place of the brown undertones in the model you posted). That might be too reminiscent of a mammalian corpse, but--hey--there's an idea, too. Ice Blue may also be worth having around--as seen on the wings of this beastie.

Also, take a look at this Trygon:

I painted all of the flesh areas with Rotting Flesh. This was then washed with Thraka Green and then highlighted with Rotting Flesh again. Once that was dry I glazed it with Enchanted Blue before applying final highlights of a Rotting Flesh/Bleached Bone mix.

I think I would experiment with vomit brown, bleached bone, snakebite leather and goblin green. Also you could add a tiny amount of hawk turquoise to get the blue/green effect. Best of luck!
