Is there a limit to the ammount of daemon princes i can have in my chaos space marine army ?

I've got them but , in this old white dawrf mag i have theres a daemon prince under a heavy support slot .

That because it's say that that Deamno prince is in Codex Deamons. Not codex chaos space marine.

In the Daemons codex you can take 3 DP as HS slot.

Are you not understanding you can take DP's in 2 different codexes?

1. In your codex CSM you can take 2

2. In a DIFFERENT codex Daemons you can take 3.

Unless you are playing Apoc, IIRC you have no limit, but I can be wrong since I have yet to play Apoc.

1. Open Chaos Space Marine codex
2. Look for "Daemon Prince"
3. Use comprehension to discover it's in HQ and nowhere else
4. Enjoy your 1-2 Daemon Princes.

Short summary of what everyone said without going in circles:

For Codex: Chaos Space Marines, you get up to 2 Daemon Princes for the 2 HQ choices.

For Codex: Chaos Daemons, you get up to 3 Daemon Princes for the 3 Heavy Support Choices.

For Apocalypse games (of any army) you get to use any number of Daemon Princes from either the Codex: Chaos Space Marines AND/OR Codex: Chaos Daemons as there is no force organisation chart.

Codex: Chaos Space Marines and Codex Chaos Daemons are two different books representing different armies. It branches off the two forces of Chaos similarly to that of Eldar and Dark Eldar. the Daemon Prince is just a shared unit, much like the Harlequins (although in this case, the Daemon Prince occupies a different Force Organisation Chart depending on which army you use).
