Hi there Dakka memebers. I usually go to other places for list advice but I figured I'd post this up in case someone has some thoughts. My Mechdar are based on redundancy and this is a competitive list so I have no problem plunking down 7 skimmer tanks and going from there. I have a few points left over and I'm willing to drop some Jetbikes to make more room if necessary.

Farseer (110pts)
-Doom, Singing Spear, RoWarding, RoWitness

Total: 1711pts

I've got some units I could try out:

-8 Scorpions with Exarch and claw
-6 Spiders with Exarch

-3 War Walkers with Shuri Cannon. These would so be in if they weren't heavy choices
-3 Vipers with weapon options undecided. Scatter-lasers for added harassment? Lances for a small adition to my anti-tank? who knows.

Thank for reading and especially for all replies.

Well, first off, you're being a little too redundant.

Drop one of the RoWarding.
Drop a Fire Prism.
Don't take EML on the FD WS. It's already a very high target priority, no need to put more points into it.

Buff up one of your Farseers. Give him Spirit Stone and Guide.

Don't bother with Scorpions or Vipers. Warp Spiders work well, but my big suggestion is 3xWar Walker with 2xScatter Laser each.

You've got 2 squads of Fire Dragons, EML on the 2 DA WS, and 2 Fire Prisms. Don't worry about anti-tank.

Well, the GDJ's are eventually vulnerable, I'd drop them.
If you play it right, 2 troop units should suffice.

2 Troops works at 1500. At 1750, I'd really like to see a 3rd.

But, I do agree: GJB are not a great option. Go with Storm Guardians or Dire Avengers in a WS.

Also, don't bother with Runes of Witnessing on a Doomseer. RoWit only is needed on a Farseer with Spirit Stones. 1 power a turn that doesn't make or break you isn't worth the points.

You dont need 2 farseers and you dont need stones on everything just ur fds.

I hate vypers.

If you can go for scatter lasers they are good. I dont like emls when I have fds and prisms. I find that each dragon squad with stones gurentees a tank dead. Prisms also take out av12 easy. I find str10ap1 tl very effective.

Dont forget that scatters drop razors rhinos and chimeras especially easily.

Runes of Warding twice is rather wasteful, I agree. It was mostly for my twin sister Farseer theme. I love having two Seers but you're right in saying its not necessary.

2 Troop choices are not enough at 1750pts, not by a long shot. Avengers need to take risks to get the most out of Bladestorm and so I need something to back them up. Could someone explain to me how T4 models with 3+ and usually 4++ and huge bases against tamplates are not survivable. I've had my 6 Jetbikes live through 2 Battlecannon, 2 Lascannon Valks, and 2 Veteran squads with Plasma to hold an objective.

How about this?

Farseer (150pts)
-Doom, Singing Spear, RoWarding, RoWitness, SpiritS, Guide

Its 12 vehicles btw! Sweet. Only concern is, even though they're more effective, the scatterlaser vipers need to get awefully close to be effective. Then again, its a lot of S6 shots or a lot of distraction from the rest.

The big problem with GJB isn't each models individual survivability (which is pretty decent). The problem is that a squad of 3 GJB takes a single wound and it's gonna run away a 28% of the time. And, the 2nd wound causes the remaining model to run 42%.

You certainly can run GJB, and there are plenty of competitve lists that do. I'm personally not a fan, but I recognize that they can be used effectively.

If you do want to stick with them, condense them into a single unit and toss a Warlock with Embolden in the squad. That drops their "Oh run" rate to only 8% and it allows them to take quite a few more casualties before hitting the 50% mark.
