Hi Everyone, a friend of mine who owns our local gamesworkshop's birthday is coming up soon, and i was looking for gift ideas and i've officially come up with blank... so im branching out to you guys!

Get him a bottle of Excedrin. Or a bottle of Scotch. After working with the GW stuff all day it will be a nice change.

Well he's obviously a gamer, does he do anything besides GW? That might make for a nice different gift. So get him some of that Firestorm Armada, Warmachine, FoW or Battletech!

I usually got for ether a cake or a bottle of something. If he owns the Local GW, then the last thing he probably wants is more GW stuff...

You can never go wrong with cake...

you should make a diorama of a battle on his cake (use space marines, orcs, whatever). Since he plays MTG get him a beta Black Lotus, that seems reasonable! --Seriously though, I think you should get him something outside the realm of gaming....if its what he does for a living and its a hobby, he might possibly want a change from it.

In the great tradition of bloke-ishness I would do the following;

1) Point out how old he is getting and point out the extent that he is balding/going grey [even if this is not true]
2) Call him a new nickname related to his aged and rotundeness, maybe even call him gay/metrosexual as well?
3) Punch him in the arm.
4) Take him down the boozer and buy him a pint or two.

That is a very good idea! except hes a little older then me... But the cake idea is def going to happen (full size battle), the liquor part i dont know since im not 21 yet :(

I do about 80% of my gift shopping at the liquor store and the beer distributor. That may sound odd but nobody has ever been unhappy with their gift.

+1 on the brushes idea. GW ones suck. Winsor and Newton are the best. However, Rosemary & Co brushes are a close 2nd for quality.

Or card sleeves for his Magic stuff. I don't play WM so I don't know what other greeblies they may need.

Screw the scotch, he'll need something much stronger. Everclear seems to be the way to go.

what if theres a leak with the everclear? itll eat the stompa :( i'll stick with the scotch
