I just have to say that filing for unemployment at Christmas is the worst feeling I've ever had. I'm an intelligent guy, college degree, loads of training in more than one area of specialty and I cannot even find a fething job working seasonal help at Radio Shack or any other number of retail stores. I spend hours every day filling out applications, following up on leads, etc but to no avail.

I know most of ya'll don't care, but I'm an average joe in America. Its terrible that I have to choose between medical care and food at this point.

Lost my job two years ago at Christmas time. It does suck a lot. I'm lucky that I was the lower of a two-income household, but we still took a major cut. I've got a part time job now, and I make less than I would have if I hadn't gotten a job and still could get unemployment.

My wife was downsized a year ago as well. She recently got a part time job but it is nothing like the job she had, and she hates it.
