Im modeling my CoW with halberds and notice that the GW are 1 handed. The rulebook says halberds are 2handed weapons. Im curious if the halberds of CoW are 1 handed weapons like brets moa, polearms treated as halberds. Thx

halberds require 2 hands to use in combat. so says the BRB.

being modeled with only 1 hand doesnt matter.

i just say their GWs are Halbards and slapped some shields on them for extra shooting protection.

Wait, when you say like Brettonian men-at-arms, are you saying that their polearms are one-handed? 'Cause I'm basically sure they're not.

Boy if only modelling mattered, my temple guard would get to use their halberds and their shields.

The models look like they hold them in one hand to me. Shield in the other.

Yes, the Brett Men-At-Arms are modeled with 'polearm' and shield. This is, in part because those 'polearms' are either halberd or spear, as the user desires. Not the way I would have done it, but it prevents GW from having to provide halberd arms and spear arms with the M@A box so it does make a little sense.

At least they made it impossible to model those polearms in anything resembling a CC-useable pose. So, obviously, it is intended to be the unit on the approach, where they are using their shields against missile fire.

Rules-wise, Great Weapons and Halberds require two hands to use, so no shields in CC. Regardess of modeling.

Unfortunately, the Bret M@A come with Halberds, and can exchange them for spears. No HW available.

Pity.
