Just asking out there in the great Dakka-hive mind of knowledge, does anyone know a cheaper way to convert plague bearers? I friend and I are really interested in an all Nurgle Daemon army, but the price for plaguebearers is freaking ridiculous Thanks everyone

Edit: Changed the title so people who were also interested didn't get their hopes up

I know a guy that used a soldering iron to melt a bunch of ork boyz into plaguebearers, added horns and cut down their weapons to make them nurgly.

You have to REALLY melt them though, but his effect actually came out rather nice. Wish I had pics, but I never know when I'm gonna see him around.

Thanks,

Brake cleaner melts models, I made the mistake of trying to strip a few space marines with some a while back and it turned them to slag. The outside of them like smeared, so I imagine you might be able to soak some models in it for about 10 minutes and smear em around. Just be careful tho...

Attention all space marine bashing neckbeards: Nobody cares what you have to say, so stop trying and go cry yourself to sleep.

Well... I do have some boys lying around. Option number 1 and 2, noted! Though I would still like to hear more ideas =)

Vampire Counts zombie swarms are good for that. You can get anywhere from 10-20 I think for about 25 bucks. More than you would get for plaguebearers at any rate. Just take any kind of modelling putty and give them bellies You can add horns by trimming bits of sprue, also make nice cheapo swords that way.

converting bloodletters is easy, simply file off all icons of khorne, chip the blades and paint them rusty, remove the horns and add one in the center of the the forehead, then add pustels amd decay, easy.
Or you could simply buy a load of GS and scratch build your own, also easy as nurgly cleavers and other such nasty things are easy to make from plasticard, even with no experience

I used the bodies from Kroots and the heads and arm from the Crypt Ghouls and I think they turned out ok for the very little time it took to make them.

Not the best photo but it should give you a general idea.

Melt orks. Brake fluid idea best I heard.
