So a friend is still trying to figure out a decent Salamander list. This is something I came up with for him. Any thoughts to make it better please comment.

First turn Drop pod either the dread or the tac squad and split squads so both 5 mans can target 2 tanks w/ meltas.
Land Raider and 3 Vindicators move up with Rhinos behind. 13/14 front armor not easy to crack.

Well, looks quite good.
But there are no long range weapons there to target enemy tanks further back.
I'd think about some Preds with autocannon, lascannons.

Incinerating your hopes

I've seen lists like these work pretty well. I usually like a little more covering fire. However, if you can get some nasty stuff into the backfield I think it will do quite well. The fact that there's 3 Vindis rolling up will scare the crap out of most people. Target priority will be a pain, making a decision between the LR with Termis or the Vindis. And, they'll have a Dread right up in their grill turn 1. Very well balanced I'd say, despite the lack of ranged AT.

I would drop one of those vindicators and go with a couple MM/HF speeders. Also, one of those squads should probably drop a meltagun and go with a flamer/combiflamer.
