So for my first Orky army I'm going with a really burna and skorcha filled army theme which i'm going to call the "Fireork Brigade", instead of putting out fires and helping everyone, they find places that AREN'T on fire and burn it to the ground.

Critique everything as needed and any input at all is welcome. Here we go.

HQ:
Big Mek (Fire Sargent Squigcooka) w/ Burna, KFF - 105
Big Mek (Fire Captain Hot'ead) w/ Burna, KFF - 105

ELITES:
15x Burna Boyz - 225
15x Burna Boyz - 225
10x Lootas - 150

TROOPS:
30x Gretchin w/ 3x Runtherds, 3x Grot-Prods - 135
30x Gretchin w/ 3x Runtherds, 3x Grot-Prods - 135
Deff Dread w/ 2x Skorchas - 85
Deff Dread w/ 2x Skorchas - 85

FAST ATTACK:
3x Warbuggies w/ 3x Skorchas, RPJ - 135
3x Warbuggies w/ 3x Skorchas, RPJ - 135

HEAVY SUPPORT:
Battlewagon w/ Deff Rolla, RPJ - 115
Battlewagon w/ Deff Rolla, RPJ - 115

= 1740pts

------

The plan is!
- Burna squad with a Big Mek each inside a Battlewagon and drive up to enemy squads and torch them/smash them with the Deff Rolla.
- Lootas are there to thin out enemy lines from a good distance.
- Deff Dreads to take apart tanks and the bigger infantry units I'll see.
- Warbuggies to zoom around and toast things, pick on tightly packed squads.
- Gretchin are there to basically try to hold objectives and tar pit things if needed.

The list is for friendly games mainly and i'd just run it for laughs at a tourny if I felt like it.
And I think I'd have a lot of fun building it up and playing as a bunch of pyromanical Orks bent on torching everyone and everything in sight.

So go nuts and give your thoughts and input.

EDIT:
Fixed list up a little

That there is a very good idea for a list. So good in fact I was already thinking of doing the same sorta thing.

About your Mek's, As much as I hate to say it. I think the Mek can't take both a KFF and combi-skorcha as they both use the "slugga" slot. Apart from that, a wicked idea.

I would personally switch out the dreads and a grot mob for a couple of trukka boyz squads, but hey, that's just me.

Good stuff,

Ohh yeah, forgot that in my haste and overzealous want of fire everywhere... Woopsies.
I was thinking that I might take a Trukk full of boyz but then I really like the Deff Dread models, I think I'll tinker around with it and see what works when I get to playing them.

Thanks for the pointers

OT: AFAIK it's a fairly recognized strategy, and not too hard to come up with yourself.

OnT: Love this idea =) Makes for a really cool themed army, make sure to paint them very red for, you know, fire

Red Orks, Firetruck themed Battlewagons and Buggies and such is the big bad plan
Can't wait to start it now really.

In the Webway.

Yeah i like this army idea, looks like fun. I would swap a unit of gretchin for some boyz in a trukk, just because every army needs some boyz really.

Otherwise, good, fun list

Oh yeah by the way, do you really need 60 grots? In any case you should consider dropping one grot, since that removes a runtherd to you can free up 26 points by removing one grot from each unit. I'd recommend you to lower them to 19 grots in each. That's 67 points per unit including the runtherds. And in my opinion you really don't need grot-prods, grabba stikks are better since you're not likely to win combat anyway and grabba stikks give you an increased chance of dragging out the battle. And again, it lowers the point cost =)

Hmm, I might do that, I've been wondering if I need all the gretchin.
A bunch of Slugga Boyz in a Trukk could just add some other dimension to the army. Have something to rush up and assault.

I'm still tinkering with the list pondering about all the different possibilties, it's good too have feedback on it

Thanks again everyone.

It might be fun, but it's hideously uncompetitive.

Here's your opponents plan:
Turn One: Pop two Battle wagons.
Turn two: Pop two Dreds. Game (pretty much) over. Nothing else (except the Lootas) threatens his vehicles, so it'll be easy from this point.
Remaining turns, mop-up.

He'll usually have at least two turns before he has to worry about anything but the two wagons. The Dreds are easy marks, and Gretchin? Tarpits? Seriously? Any assault will send them off and you've got very little to keep your opponent's assault troops away.

Drop all or most of the Gretchin (for starters at least, if you've got points at the end, add back one mob of 19 or less with one Slaver), Drop the Dreds, cut two of the Scorcha squads, maybe reduce the other.

You should probably also drop one of the burnaboyz mob, or at least reduce the numbers.

Add a bunch of boyz and something with rokkits, otherwise the burnas aren't going to have anything to burn.

But maybe it is not supposed to be competitive? A lot of people do make up FUN lists. I know I do all the time =D

Basically this, this list is in NO WAY competitive at all, it's a list I want to do for fun and because I'd have a lot of fun building and painting the Orks for it.
If I wanted to be competitive I would have written a 100% competitive list with a lot of help from people who play competitively to tweak it to be as powerful as possible.

Also... I wouldn't be calling them the Fireork Brigade if I was being serious about it haha

I like the list really does alot to take the fact that Orks can't shoot and hit for squat. Got to love the scorchas.
