So I really like the warlock Mohsar the desertwalker and I want to talk strategy with this guy. His six spells seem so random. along with his feat. It's clear you need to take more warbeasts and a unit ready to be sacrificed to make him the most effective, but other than that, he's pretty mysterious, or enigmatic as his description states.
So far I'm planning on taking the MEGALITH with him bec of Geomancy and Bountiful Restoration(maltreatment) AND bec he's plain kick-ass!
-This may mean you'd want to bring the Stones or the Druids for extra healing if need be..say if the Megalith has two systems out and rolls a 1 for healing.
Also, I take the BLOODTRACKERS for a unit I can use Sands of Fate with. I put mirage on them so they can flank enemy army with stealth, moving 16" a turn! If I get the chance, Mohsar can Sand of Fate into one and continue the
ATK.
I also love the idea of taking the Tharn Wold Riders for his Curse of Shadows spell. You use Megalith to cast the curse of shadows spell on a unit or large model in the front of the enemy's army and then use the wold riders to charge 12" inches and past them to maybe hit the caster/Wlock in the back. Or you can use Morraig the same way. he has a Threat Range of 12". This allows you to use the Wolves of Orboros with him, which also works as a Sands of Fate unit.
Another model I think synergizes with him is the SHADOWHORN SATYR. With mirage and bounding leap the Satyr can be placed 7 inches away in one turn alone with his
SPD of 6. Or if you want to knock a model down, but the satyr is too far for a head butt, just create a sand pillar behind the enemy model .5" away and then have the Satyr slam. Also, if boosted, the hit would be a pow 14+
4d6 damage roll.
I've played 3 games with this Warlock so far and have only won one, and I think it's bec two reasons: 1) I only have a few warbeasts (Warpwolf, megalith, argus, woldwyrd) and 2) I need a good defensive unit to guard him with but I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT WOULD BE...any ideas? comments? compliments?
