i was wondering if anyone could clear this up for me, according to the rules in codex: blood angels "Each special ammunition type replaces the boltgun proflie" now does this apply only to bolters, or anything with a boltgun profile? bolt pistols and stormbolters have the same AP and strength as a bolter just with different ranges and stormbolter has a different firing type.

Belongs to YMDC, I think.

A Boltgun (e.g. Bolter) is a Boltgun, nothing else.

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

Bolt pistols and storm bolters are not boltguns and do not have he same profile. (as you noted - "with different ranges and stormbolter has a different firing type")

However, the bolter half of a combi-weapon is still a bolter and has the exact same profile.

Yep. Special ammunition ONLY applies to Boltguns. Not Stormbolters or Bolt Pistols or Heavy Bolters. Only Boltguns/ Bolters.
