I'm working out a Space Wolf army and have got to the heavy support slots. For 165 points I can get a Predator with twin linked lascannon and a pair of lascannon sponsons or for 175 points I can get a Long Fang squad with 4 lascannons.

In my opinion the Long Fang squad is a lot better value due to the chances of it lasting longer in the game compared to the Predator (a single hit can knock out the Predator where as it will take a minimum of three hits with failed saves and leadership to take out the Long Fangs squad).

Am I correct in my thinking or am I missing something?

comes down to what you prefer. I use the vanilla marines codex, so at tournies my long range anti-tank is 2 Preds with auto-lascannon kitout. For 120 points, it takes out transports easily and has the possibillity of wounding monstrous creatures 4 times, and generally sits at the back of the board with shots pinging off av13.

But for wolves the ability to split fire is awesome. I'd probably take 2 missile launchers 2 lascannon though, just to keep it cheaper and still have some anti-infantry. Depends what you want them to do
