Subject: Potential Plastic Chaos Daemon alternatives.

Insect-Infested Nurgle Chaos Lord

I've seen a number of threads now asking for cheaper alternatives than the crack-is-cheaper metal models for the Daemon Range that GW offers, so I wanna see what other people have for potientially easy alternatives. Personally I have a few ideas of my own, and would like some crit on them before I commit to the purchases. If anyone has any alternative ideas feel free to list them as well, just keep in mind that they should be simple conversion jobs, with little to no GS skill required.
Bloodthirster: Either use the Minotaur bodies as a base or go with the Daemon Prince, swap out his head for that of a Chaos Warhound and add on the appropriate Horns and add on wings. For a Bloodthirster that looks like the new bloodletters, add horns from the Bloodletter champion onto the side of a normal Daemon Prince Head.
Keeper of Secrets: Obtain extra Claws for Daemonettes and place those in the wing slots for the Daemon Prince, as well as adding on a Seeker head.
Fiends of Slaanesh: Take Take Seekers and graft the torso of the Daemonettes to the neck of the steeds along with the claws, then add the daemonette legs to either the front or back of the steed for that centaur look.
Flamers of Tzeentch: Thinking about flipping the plastic Horror body upsidedown and gluing the face on the bottom, then sculpting some basic flames.
Flesh Hounds of Khorne: Chaos Warhounds. For Karnak, take three Warhounds, separate the heads of two of them, file them down and glue them to either side of the last one, and fill the gap with some greenstuff.
Khornate Daemon Princes: A pack of Minotaurs can provide for all three Daemon princes easily. Will have to get creative with the wings however.

Plastic Balrog for a Bloodthiirster. One of these days I'm going to build one of those just for the simple sack of building one.

Those new Fantasy Trolls, River Trolls I think they were would make excellent Nurgle Princes, maybe even a GUO if you're creative.
Also VC Ghouls and plasticard (for the knives) make yourself some vastly cheaper Plaguebearers.
I've only really considered some Nurgle conversions, since the 5th Chaos god of Plastic doesn't give Nurgle much love :(

Indeed. Nurgle has the most possibily for conversion since if you go mono nurgle, your entire army is literally metal. Nice call on the River Trolls, they seem perfect for Nurgle princes.
Balrog is an obvious choice for a plastic Thirster alternative. However GW policy tends to get in the way of using him competitively, so it would come down to a person's situation. I also forgot to list Plaguebearer and Nurgling conversion ideas. Currently for the former either Bloodletters or the aforementioned Ghouls are good alternatives for the daemon-zombies. For nurglings, I've heard of people using snotlings or gretchin. However going by that price, you'd be better off buying the actual Nurglings (the cost is about the same). Nurglings are one of the ones I'm after, as they're very good when combined with Epidemius and his Tally rule.
