Hey i need some help spending an extra 320 points to bring this list from 1530 up to 1850. I obviously need to get at least one hq and then spend the rest of the points filling out the rest of the army. I was throwing around these ideas;
1)Basic Libarian or Reclusiarch with Jump Packs and spend the rest on
-Honor Guard
-Extra troops, maybe scounts
-Dread and a pod
-Sternguard Vets
2)Monster Hq like Mephiston or Sanguinor and spend the extra on upgrades etc

Troops

Assault Squad (5) 190
Razorback w/Twin Linked Lascannon
1x Meltagun
1x Power Fist

Assault Squad (5) 190
Razorback w/Twin Linked Lascannon
1x Meltagun
1x Power Fist

Tactical Squad (10) 300
Razorback w/Twin Linked Lascannon
1x Meltagun
1x Lascannon
1x Power Fist

Fast Attack

Baal Predator w/ Assault Cannon 160
Heavy Bolter Sponson
Extra Armor

Baal Predator w/ Flamestorm Cannon 155
Heavy Flammers
Extra Armor

Heavy Support

Vindicator 170
Siege Shield
Extra Armor

Vindicator 170
Siege Shield
Extra Armor

Elites
Sanguinary Priests (3) 195
3x Power Sword

How would you guys spend these points? Would you pick one of these options or maybe something else im missing?

First off Razorbacks only hold 6 people, so that 10 man tact squad in a razorback is illegal. I would drop the 10 man tact squad in favor of a 5 man assault squad anyway, TBH Tactical squads suck in BA armies. I would spend the extra points after removing that squad as such.

Librarian(Sheild/Unleash Rage)-100

That leaves you with 40 points to play around with. The Librarians go into two of the razorbacks, giving it and the others around it a 5+ Cover save. And when you reach assault range Unleash Rage will give you prefered enemy, allowing you to reroll missed hits!

Na, the idea is you combat the tactical squad. The lascannon sits on a rear objective or in cover while the melta gun and sgt move up in the razorback. Each razorback gets a priest in order to load them all up to max capacity.

Thats the problem. I dont have any room in transports for the hq so would need to spend some of those points on one, make them a primarily shoot/support hq or mosty likely make them jump infantry.

Leading toward mephiston now not only because of his power but the fact that he draws so much attention also

Good luck accomplishing anything with that tactical squad. They fail in the assault so moving them up the field is practically pointless. Between all of your meltas, PFs, and TL-LC shots do you really need that lascannon in the backfield? For the same price you can get another 5 man assault squad in a Razorback and then if you want a scoring unit that has a long range threat get scouts with snipers and one with a missile launcher and camo cloaks for better survivability.
So for the 300 point tactical squad and extra 320 you can get:
Assault Squad (5) 190
Razorback w/Twin Linked Lascannon
1x Meltagun
1x Power Fist
Scount Squad(10)-180
Camo Cloaks
Sniper Rifles
Missile Launcher
You can use the scouts to camp the backfield objective and then you have a more capable squad in that razorback.

As for the remaining 250 points I would really suggest those librarians with shield, unleash rage. Give them jump packs and use the razorbacks as cover for them. They give the razorbacks a cover save that can really make a difference.

um i kinda do need three priests as they do a tremendous amount to buff five man squads and they also add more power weapon attacks. It makes three of my troop group much more attack oriented and also gives them a defensive buff.

Again im really looking for HQ and extra point spending, not changing my core list around. I listed it just to give you an idea of what im working with

So you claim to know what your army needs.

But have no idea for your HQ...

Okay.

Mephiston or Librarians

I always use priests as I find the FNP and FC to be helpful. HQs should be two Librarians with shield and something else because you will need that cover save. If you go up against a shooty army (Tau, Imp Guard) who have Str10 AP1 railguns and such then your troops are going to be footslogging around useless and getting torn apart. That 5+ save can really make a difference. If you really think that tactical squad is going to accomplish something by all means go for it, but Librarians are the way to go for a mech list.

Arlington TX, but want to be back in Seattle WA

well i would simply just blow the points on anything. Out of the possible choices mentioned, a drop pod Dread would be nice.

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

The Dude - "Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women, man."

Lord Helmet - "I bet she gives great helmet."

well with 320, i could still easily field both the libby's and have points left over so its at least worth trying out and the cover save is nice. It seems the general idea is libarians so ill give that a try.

and wasn't trying to be a d*ck just wanted to keep post on topic and not a general list review but thank you for the help guys.
