what colour did you use for the armour, i want to use it for my iron warriors primarch

its quite a few steps, for these guys the only way you can do the armour this way is paint the armour first then pick out all the details on everything else

1) Prime chaos black
2) Mix 1/2 chaos black + 1/2 boltgun metal (then Very very very lightly drybrush)
3) very very very light drybrush of boltgun metal
4) even lighter drybrush of chainmail
5) Wash in badab black if you find the metal is too bright
6) very think hard highlighting with chainmail on edges where metal would be worn

It seems like alot of steps but it goes by quite quickly and the results are really good. It's like a metallic black..

Hey,

I have painted these guys for an internet friend I have met through our mini wargaming ventrilo channel. I have done one terminator prior to these to establish a colour scheme for him. He gave me an idea of what he wanted but let me have the freedom of coming up with how to paint them. Cheers and thanks for the sub on you tube.

Very nice GK although I prefer mine to be a bit brighter, it looks very nice either way.

Is your flag correct? If so, I assume you speak English pretty well (correct me if I'm wrong, England and Co. is quite ethnically diverse). I have to say I can't really understand a thing your saying.

Anyway, on Dakka here we appreciate correct grammar and spelling, if you have trouble with either Firefox has a spell checker built in or you can type your post into word to get the grammar and spelling right then copy and paste it into dakka.

Also, if you ever want someone to look at something, a link or picture helps.

OK, so my spelling is not english prose. But by saying I'm sure you mean me, and my writing! and if you can understand a thing I've said, then it was too the point, if not some how you have performed some of the greatest deduction work since Sherlock Holmes and the case of the missing dictionary, I take it we do not have a problem.

Perhaps you should apologize to the guy that you ranted at for no good reason, and to the rest of us for having to read your "lol you tk him 2 da bar" speak, in addition to your friend for messing up his thread.


Very nice paint job, by the way.

I like these, I rarely ever see grey knights. I think the green fits fine, too much emphasis I think draws away from the dark look they have..

I've always liked that GK model - even if it does strike a "SHOOT ME!" pose.

@Soulhunter1001: I'd expect people with the UK flag to at least have a passing grasp of His Majesty's English - and board rules before posting.

Use of text-style abbreviations is not encouraged on dakka.

Leave things like M8 and its ilk for the IM and twitter updates.

Its not a question of understanding, its a question of not being a douchebag. We aren't all 12-14 years old on this site with our first cell phones, and having to put up with the 'net-speak' is tedious to say the least.

Write properly and leave the 'net-speak' to your phone or twitter, we shouldn't have to trudge our way through that here.

To the OP: The colour choices are great but the lettering and scrollwork could use some work to make it look more realistic. Also, try thinning your paints some more, the paintjob looks thick in a few places.

Red/White combo looks good.

Like the colour scheme, I find GK in silver are pretty boring.

I personally have painted my GK captain in the their original livery of black armour and red cloth to show he has been around a hell of a long time and he looks pretty nifty.

On the grammar issue. Dakka is pretty picky about it. Try really hard to post in a readable format. The forum even gives you reminders if things aren't properly capitalized. Read the forums rules. It's mentioned there.

I envision that GK doing the best "come at me bro" pose in the world
