Alright guys/gals,

I have been playing fantasy for a few weeks with a couple of mates and we have a few rules queries for things we cant find in the rulebook (they may well be there but cant find em). Any help would be much appreciated -

1. Can wizards cast spells if they march? If yes does this include direct damage and magic missiles spells?

2. Do the dwarves get a magic phase even though they dont cast spells? We assume they do so they can use all the winds of magic dice to dispel spells in play cast by the other army

3. We had a situation where my lvl 2 sorceress had her casting level reduced to 0 and lost 2 spells as the result of a miscast. As she started the game with 3 spells she still had 1 spell left. Can she still cast this spell in future turns or does the fact she is now a lvl 0 caster mean she cant do magic any more?

4. High elf spearman - Martial prowess suggests they should be able to fight in 4 ranks when they have not charged, but the example in the high elf army book seems to state they can fight in an extra rank, but still only in 3 ranks if they are charged.

1: Yes, and yes.

2: Yes, the power dice can even be stolen by the black coach!

3: IIRC a level 0 wizard is just that, a level zero wizard. He can still cast spells and dispel, but get no inherent bonus. Might be very wrong though. (No book)

4: The fight in one extra rank regardless when wielding spears and fighting in the front. Meaning 3 when charging (front rank, supporting, prowess) and 4 otherwise (That + Spears), they can even fight in 5 when in a horde.

3: Page 4 of the BRB FAQ gives you the answer:

Q: If a Wizard has had his level reduced to 0 does he still counts as a Wizard and can he still attempt to channel Power and Dispel dice? (p28)
A: Yes.

With regards to your fourth question, don't get thrown off by the text in the High Elf book- it was written with the previous edition in mind.
