SO, I came up with an idea for an army based on a Radical Ordo Malleus Inquisitor, corrupted by their use of Daemonhosts. What do you think of this idea? Is it viable?

I am struggling somewhat to come up with what such a force would involve.Obviously, I need to include an Inquisitor and a Daemonhost (or two), but then I get a bit stuck. It seems fitting to have traitor IG and some Daemons, or maybe CSM..but what codex would I need to use?..

Are you trying to make a codex-legal list or just form your won army and "to hell with the rules"?

If you are going codex legal, you will need some stand-ins for Inquistorial Stormtroopers (2 units worth) so thats 10-20 models there plus any transports you want to buy for them (so 2 chimeras or rhinos). IG for traitor guard is always good to supplement your army as you will need them for all the firepower they bring. The Daemonhunter codex (printed) and IG faq gets into specifics.

if you're not get whatever you want that you will like.

Given the choice, I'd like to try and make it "legal". Is there any way I can incluse Assasins?? Or would they have left? Traitor guard was the most obvious way of going-just a few mutations and Slaanesh 'em up a bit..

Well, you could always play an Inquisitorial force right out of the DH rulebook.

You will get your IG/traitor guard, your Daemonhosts and your Assassins. They're all in there.

I started building one, back in the day. I built a whole bunch of mutants, and planned on using them as Stormtroopers, right out of the codex.

Never quite got the army off the ground, though, except for building the Tzeentch themed Deamonhost, a Chimera & bunch of mutants.

using a radical daemonhunter force doesn't mean you have to use traitors, even radicals have the power to sequestor anything they want (apart from grey knights) so you can just have inducted IG that are totally unaware of the radicals methods.

you could use inq. stormtroopers to represent those troops that have been inducted into the inquisitor's methods.

Stormtroopers can also be Elite blocks of Traitor guard like Blood Pact. As for Assassins, there was mention that some Death Cult Assassins worshipped Khorne, and Officio Assassinorium Operatives probably dont ask alot of questions.

If you dont mind proxying, you might even be able to include some Grey Knights in your force, counting as Chosen Chaos Marines.

I am using an Assassin in my Traitor Guard force and yes an Inquisitor is needed and the Assasin takes up 1 Elite spot, is a loner and is great for taking out an opponents HQ squad. Its just hard for me money wise to buy new figs at this time no job, so my Assassin is a GW fig from the 80's and fits in just fine. Just buy the mandatory 2 10-man units (Storm Troopers) work great for him to lead.

Chaos rules you all drool! Blood for the Blood God!

radical inquisitors still work for the IoM they wouldn't work with the blood pact or chaos marines and the officio assassinorium definetly wouldn't work with them, unless they were there to kill the inquisitor.

Varying in degrees of guilt. The OP did say Heretical Inquisitor, so they might work with Blood Pact or CSM, depending on how far gone.

I would agree with this. It all depends on how far into radicalism they've fallen. Do the ends always justify the means. Even if those means involve aiding one set of the Imperiums enemies for power that they can use against others? Just blanket saying that they dont work for chaos ever is a bit too much generalization. Assassins of the Imperial temples/cults I would find hard to imagine working with out and out radicals. But you can always make them counts as members of some savage worlds death cult they've inducted into the retinue.

you could use the death cult assassins to repesent that but not the officio assassinorium, their stats/equipment represent years of training and lots of tech, which would be very out of place in a cultist or savage world human.

if he was heritical (as in broke from the IoM) it would be fine, but not if he was only radical.
