Just curious, would Black Templars 20-man crusader squads led by a Chaplain be of any use in today's meta? I guess you'd want to run them in an otherwise mechanized army as the only infantry target to force your enemy to either focus on them or ignore them completely? Thoughts?

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

I've run armies of 3 x 20 with officers, and some Land Speeders to great effect. The trick is to eliminate enemy pie-plates and other sources of AP4 fire ('cause that will slaughter your neophytes).

Otherwise just run forward screaming. Since you're almost guaranteed to get 10 marines into combat, you're looking at 26 S4 attacks that reroll hits, plus anything left from your Neophytes, and a powerfist at the end. In addition, a Chaplain or EC will add some nice extra wounds.

It's not the most effective strategy ever, but it is one of the better Templar tactics.

Yeah! Who needs balanced rules when everyone can take giant stompy robots! Balanced rules are just for TFG WAAC players, and everyone hates them.
