Apologies if this in the wrong forum.
Let's say you were building a Tau Pirahna that could complement any Tau army - what weapons would you put on it?

That would depend on it's intended role, anti tank is Fusion Blaster and anti infantry is Burst Cannon, but overall the Fusion Blaster is much better for it's cost.

So without knowing any other parts of the army, you would pick the Fusion Blaster?
Sorry for the ambiguity, but it has it's purpose.

Fusion Blasters are your melta weapons, and melta weapons are always better when on highly mobile platforms. The main use of Piranhas is getting in really close and blocking off movement, being vehicles they can't get locked in combat so you can keep shooting + can explode and kill things as well. If you can kill off some expensive vehicles while doing this then even better.
You could give Fusion Blasters to Crisis Suits I guess, but they don't have the mobility or any desire to get in close, better off sticking with Missile Pods and Plasma and sitting on the board edge with them.

YES. It is Fusion Blaster or no piranha at all.
You can get S5 AP5 anywhere in the Tau codex, but not the Melta.
I ll even give my devilfish FB if I can.
Ok maybe not, I want to keep my distance for my DF.

+1 this.
Turn 1 - Turbo-boost within a foot of the enemy armor. Pray for TB Cover Saves and the Flechettes to keep it alive.
Turn 2 - Move up and use the melta-technology to bag a tank.
Because the TB gives a Cover Save, the DisPod is not essential that first turn. *After*, prolly so. Equipping with Flechettes is a good idea, as being so close into enemy lines, it's highly likely to get assaulted, given that most MEqs can't bust its AV11 front and will therefore assault it.

Heh, that'd be nice. Maybe next codex.

Excellent, thanks for all the replies!
I was going to put on a Fusion Blaster, but I thought I would check with the forums for people smarter than me.
