What do you think of this vehicle? Is it worth the points? Uses?

It's ok.

it has 6 krak missiles. basically 1 for each shooting phase.

the advantage it has is that it could potentially fire ALL of them in 1 round at seperate targets.

My main dislike of it is that it competes with Broadsides and Hammerheads. Hammerheads can take 2 Seeker missiles each so if you have 3 of them that is the same as having 1 Skyray AND you have Railguns too.

In any normal list, they should not be taken. I believe what you get with them isn't worth their points at all.

However, this kind of list would do ok-ish with them, though I've never tested it:

Commander, equipment doesn't really matter

Troops

Fire Warriors (9)
Warfish (SMS/TA/MT/2 Seekers)
225 pts.

Fire warriors (9)
Warfish (SMS/TA/MT/2 Seekers) - the pathfinders d-fish
225 pts.

Fast Attack

Pathfinders (8)
96 pts.

Piranha Squadron (5)
(Targeting Arrays/2 Seekers/Fusion Blaster)
400 pts.

Heavy Support

Skryay w/ BCs/TA/DP
145 pts.

Skryay w/ BCs/TA/DP
145 pts.

Skryay w/ BCs/TA/DP
145 pts.

Total (-Commander) - 1381.

That would give you 119 points to suit up your commander, and possibly a small retinue. I would keep your commander cheap and buff up your Fire Warrior units.

In this list, you would deploy your skyrays in the center, and at both corners of your deployment zone. Pathfinders would go wherever convinient.

Have the pirhanas turbo-boost down the board to get a nice view of your opponent's armor. Have pathfinders fire MLs at whoever you want dead.

The skrays are positioned so at least one of them can see your opponents side armor, and so they can blast away from their position.

After the Piranhas have no more seekers, they have FBs to keep them useful.

You have a total of 32 Seekers in this list.

only problem w/ 32 seekers is that you would need 32 markerlight hits, meaning you would need to fire 64 times with the pathfinders, which would equate to 8 game turns.

I would never take so many missile. I dont like them as much as I used to. Dont have much use since they arent blast. only good for popping transports.

Incorrect, my good man. Not only are there pathfinders, there are also skyrays that have the markerlights. That is yet another sue for them, because after they have used all their Seekers, they still have two markerlights and 2 burst cannons.

With three skyrays, you would have a total of 14 markerlights, 6 of which are at bs 4

your FWs can also carry marker lights.

if you run stealth suits you can get another marker light there.

marker drones in Suit squads.

but why would you want to fire EVERY missile in a single turn and need 64 marker lights?

I personally don't like to use them outside of APOC games do to the fact that Rail guns are more useful (S 10 AP 1) against vehicles and infantry (especially Termies)
