Ah, Old One Eye... How far you have fallen. But maybe it is possible for you to still hang on by one Scything Talon while lashing out with a monstrous crab claw?
Well, lets have a look at him compared to regular a 'fex:
You basic fex comes at 160 points and the OOE is 100 more. The closest you can get to OOE is a Carnifex w/Scything Talons, Crushing Claws, and Regeneration(twice, effectively) for 235 Points. So, for 25 points more, OOE gets +1S, +1Ld, the ability to give his Ld to other units, and berserk rampage. Does not seem like a very bad deal does it?
Admittedly, this is based off the way nerfed carnifex, but I think OOE can be useful. He just won't win games on his own. I've run him twice now and he has proved very handy, but not a competitive. The first was a 1k game, so he did take a large chunk out of my points, but my opponent really did not have enough firepower to bring him down. Of course, a competitive opponent would probably have a vendetta/5xML long fangs squad to handle him, but he proved a good distraction while staying alive.
The other game was a 2k battle and I had OOE run in cooperation with my deathstar along with Venomthrope support. This also worked very well as my opponent had to choose his targets carefully and both the deathstar and the OOE hit his army with minimal damage.
Anyone else have any thoughts or experiences with good Ol' One Eye?

His points went up, he's not as survivable as before, he didnt get any stat boosts and he also uses up a precious Heavy Support Choice without the ability to take more fexes, so I wouldnt use him unless it was a themed thing. I do own the model though, and it's one of the better 3rd ed models I have.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do. |

Well, of course he was going to be toned down. He was actually banned from tournaments in 3rd edition.

The banning of stuff from codexes is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. This company made this unit and its too OP ... (banhammer)

hmm. When I did 'nids, I used him. Only played 1 game, but he killed 20 plague marines and a predator. My genestealers did best though, killing over 4 turns, a vindicator, chaos lord, 10 plague marines and a rhino.

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.
