I'm using a Gargoyle body and Hormagaunt arms. I wanted to try and move away from being completely Tyranid, so I looked around and found a box of Beastmen I wasn't using. I'm not sure of the results though, I'm thinking it is too small. Throw me some honest opinions here please.

I always imagined Razorwings to be a swarm of flying blades or tiny creatures, not a singular beast. The model itself looks great, although the Beastmen head doesnt seem to fit with the bug-like nature of the body.

Yeah, I get "swarm" out of the description too. But with the bats GW makes being butt ugly, I was trying something different and just threw one model together real quick. The plan is to put three of the gargoyles on each base (one for each wound), hopefully building the base itself at different levels to fit flying sticks of different heights on it. As for the head, I guess I wasn't just being critical, it does seem a little ... off when compared to the rest of the model.

First off, the Flock has 5 wounds not the 3 you mention. Getting five of those on a singe base might be hard.
the description mentions the flock as being "raptors" and having "Beaks" and "Feathers". All of this says to me flock of birds.
If you want to go that route, I found this site. In their animal catalogue PDF that have a set of "birds of prey" that is 12 for $10. not too bad.

That being said, I do like the model you came up with. All you would need to do is change the head, but in all honesty it kinda looks like a Sphinx or other mythical creature. maybe use them as the Kymera instead?

Since I have utterly failed with this idea, I will probably just put a couple of Gargoyles on each base and call it a day. I do really like the Talon arms on it, so with the regular head at least each base will look cohesive to itself.
Thanks for the comments gentlemen.

personally I'd go with gluing a bunch of extra DE blades on wires and sticking them haphazardly on the base, kinda like the Buzzer Swarms from Tiberium Wars. Cheap and (if done well) effective.
