Well guys, these are the first pictures I have uploaded onto Dakka and I wanted to get as many of your opinions as possible.

I started a DE Army a few days before release day (Pre-Order ) and have assembled everything I got as well as much more stuff which I have added to it. I had kind of been putting the painting off because I wanted to do it justice and I wasn't sure my skills were up to scratch but I finally decided to just get on with it and I have uploaded the pictures of what I have so far. I have already decided on the name which is in the thread title 'The Kabal of the Poisoned Chalice', and I have had some excellent ideas for a background for my Kabal which I will eventually get around to writing and hopefully posting should you guys be interested in reading it. I was thinking of utalising a kind of long term rivaly with the Blood Angels and an incident in both thier pasts involving the poisoning of The Red Grail held by Brother Corbulo. Linking into this I would also like to come up woth some sort of BA/DE type diorama whereby the DE are attacking a bastion held by the BA with Jetbikes and Heliions flying around and Mandrakes crawling from the shadows. I can picture it in my head and trust me it looks cool, I'm probably not doing it justice!

Anyway I'm rabbiting, please tell me what you think of my pictures so far. These are a very early WIP, literally the first squad I have started painting and would like to hear any thoughts anyone may have. Also if you wouldn't mind rating my pictures in my gallery that would be amazing, and let me know if you would like to hear more of my Kabals history!

The green is phenomenal. However I personally think the orange detracts from the armour, maybe darken it a bit.

Thanks guys! It is actually Mechrite red with a Devlan Mud wash but the pics have made it look lighter. I'm going to highlight up through Blood Red with some extreme hightlights of Blazing Orange sparingly.

Made some progress on them, pretty much finished on the Warriors and wanted to start one of my Raiders so made some headway on that. Pictures to follow soon!

The green looks awesome, very evil Can't wait to see what you do with the Raider, I'm a bit lost on what mine will turn out to look like.

Oh, and to display the images in the post, you should see under "Share This" a forum link code in a awhite box, thats what you need

Green suits 'em well doesn't it my warriors will look similar but more 'blue'. I have one criticism, the red feet, they really don't do it for me. Your Sybbie demonstrates how much better they would look without. In general i always say if possible make the feet the same as your main scheme colour and failing that a neutral one like black, grey, or brown. Mite i suggest you paint the top knots blue?

I understand what you are saying about the red feet, and to be honest im in 2 minds still as well. It's the first squad i've painted as yet so I might still make a few tweaks here and there. As for the top knots, it's a toss up between orange and blue atm. Might do one of each and get some peoples thoughts??

Will get those pictures of the extra I have done up soon, although unfortunately I've been ill at home and my DE and Paints have been sitting at work :( So haven't been able to make use of my 'resting up' time with some relaxing painting!

Very nice! They do look quite poisonous... in those Christmas outfits. Seriously though, they look good.

I like them they look good. That combination of green and red does bring christmas to mind.

Use the tags around the URL of a jpg file, not an html file. You get the jpg file by right clicking on the pic and chosing "show pic" or something like that (first option there). Then you get this:
