I found some really old-looking pewter Aliens figures in my FLGS's bits box Friday night. Sadly only 3 of them and only two were complete. A quick Google search lead me to believe they were manufactured by Leading Edge and I was just wondering if anyone might know if they were still produced by anyone or if they're pretty much only available on eBay now?

Sorry if this fits better in the swap shop, didn't really know where to put this.

They're pretty much ebay only these days.

I had a few of them (Alien Warriors box and the Riple/powerloader set).

They still hold up pretty well provided you play in a more realistic sized 25mm game.

They were neat models for a cumbersome game system. And as chromedog said, good size for the 28mm non-heroic GW pose models to run a game with. The APC and dropship normally go for big cash on ebay., most likely not only due to the Aliens theme but they were big and made of pewter! I can only imagine the weight.

Halcyon also made a 1/72 scale plastic dropship model that worked with them (a mate in the fx industry scratchbuilt an APC to go with it). He often did display models for a large hobby store in Sydney when he had spare time.

That's unfortunate, looking on eBay it doesn't seem like you'll get a set of just the warriors models for anything less of $100. The queen itself is just as expensive.

X) I really wish someone would make licensed Alien miniatures, though I imagine no one would unless there was a game to go with it and I don't see anyone producing a game anytime soon.

The last mob was Hasbro/Wizkids through it's AvP clix line.

Not even Hasbro could make a tie-in with AvP work.

GW have no chance. They can't reach the market saturation that Hasbro could. Market saturation is REQUIRED for a game as niche as that.

Even the AvP clix are getting decent prices on ebay now. I have the Pred and Queen boxes, Id like a Aliens box but they keep going higher than Im willing to pay.

Whats my game?
Warmachine (Cygnar)
10/15mm mecha
Song of Blades & Heroes
Blackwater Gulch
X wing
Open to other games too

Oh, COLLECTORS will pay stupid crazy prices for things, no doubt.

AS A GAME it sucked like a dyson.

I own both old leading edge Alines and new Horrorclix Aliens (both including Queen) and must say that the Horrorclix are the better (and slightly bigger) sculpts. The new Horrorcix predators though are much too large IMHO, I prefer the copplestone, Heresy or Ainsty models.

What Chromedog said. The Leading edge figures were not produced in huge amounts like GW figures are, and as a result are sort of scarce. Add to that they've been OOP for years, makes them hard to find. The price on figures like this, especially in MIB condition, is anybodies guess.
