Most of us have that one Christmas that stands out in our minds as "The best Christmas ever.",for me it had to be Christmas 1975,not only because our home was filled with Family and great food, but because I received the entire line of Megos Worlds Greatest Super Heros...at the time I think my tiny child brain exploded, and that Christmas has always been the "Christmas" I look back on the most.

So,what about you,my fellow Holly Jolly Dakkites, what Christmas gifts or stories stand out as your most Memorable Christmas?

Holy crap, as a kid I think my brain would of melted and poured out as well getting all that!

My fav, was I used to play guitars alot as a kid. I played a buddies electric bass on and off for awhile and asked my parents for one for probably 3 years or so. I never got it, and really figured I never would because thats alot of money when youve got 3 kids to buy for. And when I was 15, I stopped asking for one because I just knew I wouldnt. And that was the year my dad surprised me with a Washburn bass. It was badass, and I still own it. Looks like hell now, but I will never get rid of that thing.

Last year- Assault on black reach. I was dumbstruck, never owning anything so expensive and big from GW in a single box. This was of course when it was 60 bucks, the best deal out there. But, I still look back and see how much I turned around my hobby with that. This year I am looking to get Gangs of Mega city one !

In terms of childhood stuff, it'd have to be the Nintendo 64 we got around 97. Spent the entire day playing Waverace with my sister.

In terms of what it's done for me in the long run... my Canon Elan 7 film camera from last year. Within 7 months it had become my new favorite toy, changed my career plans completely, and got me into one of the best art schools possible. I used to want to be a concept artist. Now, I want to do nothing but shoot photos for the rest of my life, and I'm well on my way. Easily the best Christmas present possible.

Ouze on GW: "I'd like to be like, hey baby, you're a freak but you just got too much crazy going on, and I don't hook up with bunny boilers. But then Necrons are going to come out, and I'm going to be like damn girl, and then next thing you know, it's angry sex time again.

It's complicated."

I remember Christmas of '82 (?) when the 3 1/4 GIJOES had just come out. I pretty much got the whole range except Rock n'Roll and the Bazooka guy. A fantastic morning indeed.

Flipside to that, about 2 or 3 years ago we had a big family Christmas with around 20 people. When we were doing stockings, a family tradition where we buy small things for each other, I noticed my brother-in-law was getting shafted so I broke up our (me an my wife's) gift for him and put something, a Edmonton Oilers cap ( no accounting for taste there - blechhh) in his stocking aside from the family wide standards of giant chocolate bar, scratch lottery ticket and bag of M&Ms supplied by Grandma. Nothing sucks worse than getting sweet F A in your stocking...

We get down to opening them on Christmas morning and all was in my stocking was a giant chocolate bar, a scratch lottery ticket and a bag of M&Ms. I got the shaft from my own kinsmen. sniff. sniff. Then when it came to the actual gift time, the only gift I got was a Calgary Flames jersey (now the Oilers crack might be in perspective for some Canuckistanis) that I picked out with my wife. Only my wife, God Bless her Peggy-Bundy-meets-Chrissy-from-Three's-Company-Japanese soul, gave me a gift. Then, her and I had to sit at the outcast table during dinner. That was the last family Christmas before I gave away all of my stuff and moved into exile to the Christmasless Isle of Cipangu.

Now Christmas is White Russians, Johnny Quest on Youtube and hopefully, if my hiking expedition is a success, maybe some wild smokey smoke. They do call it 'Chiba' for a reason.

Merry Christmas, nerds.

Gotta say it has. One Christmas she suprised me with a display cabinet for all of my painted figures. Imust be doing something right.

There was one Christmas Eve, '82 if I recall, when I was headed home after working late. A buck ran out in front of me and I hit it, totaling my Datsun. That holiday kind of blew.

As a kid, hmm most memorable was probably 1984 when after getting a few prezzies each, my brother unwraps a AT AT figure, which was awesome, but as a ten year old I was a little, how come we got the same amount of small presents and then he got a huge one and I didn't.

I think my cheeks where flushed red (green*) for a little while, then no word of a lie about an hour or so after we'd all been playing with our toys etc. My mother suddenly lets out a little 'dang it type expletive' and rushes upstairs and brings down my brand new spankin Slave 1.

To this day I cannot fathom how she missed that situation for easily over an hour.

Since adulthood, the first Christmas with my eldest son. My fave picture of all time for my son is still him giving a crazied grin/laugh over at my mothers on Boxing day that year.

edit - checked with my mother as I work with her, it was 1984, so added date and my correct age.

It isn't a webcomic. It is Twisted Toyfare Theater, which was in Toyfare Magazine. They sell compilations of the comic.

Ah. I remember an online webcomic that had the hulk and other marvel/DC comic heres that was pretty funny.

Hawkeye had his bow taken away for shooting a team member and shouted "My usefulness!" in one panel. Can't find the stupid thing, now.

Mine was about 5 years ago when my brother andhis mrs got me a Basilisk.

It was the first and only wargaming present I have received in 20 years that I didn't have to choose myself.

I was very greatful but I think my brother thought that I was taking the piss so hasn't followed this with anything else :(

The Christmas I got my SNES was awesome. It was the first games console I owned. It came with the super scope and I spent many happy hours blasting various things with a small grey plastic bazooka. What a light gun that was.

Last year around Christmas time my wife and me were looking around some charity shops in St Andrews for some warm jumpers for her as she was visiting her grandparents in Russia for Christmas Day. While she was looking at the clothes I wandered over to the DVDs and books. There was a box stuffed full of RPG and gaming books. I must have been droolin I think because my wife came over as I was looking at them and asked if I found anything interesting. I told her what I was looking at and without further more she picked up the whole box walked to the till and bought the lot for me. My jaw bounced off the floor several times.
