Grey knight physic power banishment.

How does it work? Does it even work?

Here is the passage
"Banishment is a psychic power that may be used at the beginning of any Assault phase. Daemons in base contact with
the psyker or the squad he is with roll 3D6 when testing for Instability, and add the two highest dice rolls for the result. This
effect lasts until the end of that Assault phase."

Instability tests are no longer taken and thus the rule is ignored. Essentally the power did work but no longer does.

As above.

There are no instability tests any longer, therefore while you can cast the power, nothing then happens.

Ignore it...

As a heads up - a new GK codex should hopefully be out not long after Christmas, so I wouldnt build in allies / anythign too heavy in one direction.

As nos said, GK are rumored to be coming out very soon. It's been a while since their codex was updated, so you may see a whole new list of options for them.

I'd also expect a much better selection of plastic models. Means you'll get a lot more models for your cash if you wait.

Perhaps asking for gift cards for Christmas?

As the others have said there will be some new grey knights out early next year so I wouldn't start them quite yet.

You of course can start them as long as you know it will be hard going and you will lose a lot of games at first. At least until the new dex and everyone starts playing them.
